Nikon D850, last best DSLR…
Needed this very badly..
Nikon D850 it’s a fantastic DSLR ever ever…
I love nikon system
One cons : Video AF
Who took that eagle shot?!
Ken bait 😉
I just bought an A7r3… Just because it is mirrorless^^ I had an NX1 & A7 befor it.
One big advantage of having a dslr is whenever I go on hiking I don’t take binocular because I put 70-300mm lens on my dx camera and use it as a monocular without turning on my dslr.
The image at 4.27″. Was it with low shutter speed? If yes, how did you get the moving people appear still? Stabilization is great if people are not moving – if I had taken this shot at 1/30 sec., people would be blurry. The person walking on the left would be blurry with anything below 1/100 sec. I would have to use at least 1/150. Personally I have also noticed micro-contrast degradation [and color bleed] in fine details with body stabilization in some shots (not so with lens stabilization), which would make me want a stabilized camera where I can it OFF when I need it to be off. The D850 should have IBIS if possible, but it’s not needed or so great very often, unless everything is completely still in the frame. If you have branches moving, surface water moving, people moving even slightly, even birds and insects, you have to use high shutter speed anyway.
When will sony ever improve the Ergonomics of their cameras, now that they have a 400 lens they have to think about it seriously , but it seems they prefer to crunch the fingers of their users…If only they distribute some of their PR fund to their design team they would have a great product and users can have 3 or 4 grt systems to choose from
If Nikon were to come out with with something similar to Canon’s Dual-Pixel AF, I would buy it in less than a heartbeat. Game over.
Oh my god! Canon colors are so flattering to skin tones! It’s refreshing to see you guys shot on Canon! looks great and creamy
Hi folks, have you heard about the problem on Sony Alpha cameras that the anti reflection coating of the rear display sometimes starts to „peel off“ ? I saw this issue on a Alpha 7R II and I was quite shocked that this happens to a camera at this price point. A dealer confimed to me that they had some reports from clients about this problem…
35 year shooter of Canon and I switched to Sony! I painfully waited for the GM lenses, but now am very happy with the switch. Other professional photographer friends have Nikon 810 and 850s and our comparisons pretty much match your exeriences! Keep up the good work – I send my students to your website to enhance their photographic education.
Guys… I’ll tell you what you’re missing – *weighting*
Just counting the *number* of “Xs” is not enough, surely…?
I admit, I’m all for Nikon.
next time we give the white board and pen to Chelsea lol <3
Sony cameras are just stuffed with features, their cameras lack the soul and dependability that Nikon cameras have, Sony would have been BTFO completely if Panasonic would have been making full frame cameras, even something like GH5/G9 hits alot despite being Micro 4/3
Sony owner here, but I feel the A7RIII and D850 are closer than the comparison made it out to be because the D850 won in categories that generally people put more weight in: lenses and handling/ergonomics. Those categories, along with image quality which the two cameras tied for, are probably the three most important factors people look for in a new camera. Also, if you’re strictly talking about battery life and not charging features (features should be it’s own category in my opinion), the D850 should have won that category although battery life isn’t an issue on either camera. Both are great cameras and I went with the Sony personally, but it’s not a slam dunk win for the A7RIII just because it got more check marks in this comparison.
So the Sony a7R III won with 8 points ver 5 for the Nikon D850
I live in florida. In the summer its raining off as on out of nowhere. Its little league football seaon now. I need to know that i can get my camera wet a little bit. And ergonomics is everything to me. I shoot with Canon mostly but I also use Nikon also reasons mentioned. Maybe Sony will get there someday but for now I can’t switch because when it comes to real world working environment for me this is important.
