Nie is like Pie which is like Die and Lie….do you see an e in Nikon? NO…so stop saying Niekon.
Sony rips Nikon a new A-hole rrrriggghhhrrraaawwwww TIMMMEEHH!!!!
Chelsea looking good! Spot on!
A7Riii has video with 1FPS which is basically timelapse…!!!
For timelapse, can a7R III add the app from internet like a5100?
Why is the d850 better for wildlife?
How about the Sony overheating issue? I own 4 Sonys and they all overheat – even my a7RII.
Tony & Chelsea, I know you guys like the Canon 6D II for these video’s, but I hate that objects are being put in front of the camera and it never focuses on them. If you’re going to use such a shallow DOF at least choose a camera that can switch back/forth consistently and reliably. Please try doing one of these video’s with the Sony A7 III or something else? Or use a smaller aperture? Lastly, lots of background hiss in these in-home vlog style videos? Is that environmental or something hardware related? It’s really loud in my headphones.
Still on the D700 and still loving it, however, I have to admit the D850 is definitely its rightful successor. Had a chance to try it and it’s just amazing! Great camera!
Can you tell the difference of the size of the field in the viewfinder, because it is said that the D850 offer the largest viewfinder ever, and with your review you speak only about the electronic sony capability to say it’s better without mentionning the comfort of the field the eye can see (some people have eyes needing bigger image enlargemebt in the viewfinder…) in theese two cameras.
So Please if you really compared the viewfinder it would be nice to mention that difference of eye comfort/immersion in the image. I don’t understand how serious reviewers can miss this point.
Interesting, but the list could go on, illuminated control buttons, Memory card speeds Etc.
What!… low light doesn’t get its own category and gets tucked away under video (which you then give to sony)
Sony AF and battery is better seriously?
regardless of what you might say mirrorless will be the new tech; dslr will be obsolete in just a handful of years; dji started this trend with their drones and i said about 5 years ago that this would be the new road with cameras and dji is pushing that very hard and with great success ; all camera makers have now started the mirrorless war and there will be no turning back now; so weather you like it or not dslr will be history in due time.
As a Nikon-shooter I tried the Sony with the 16-35 and the 85 lens. The lenses are very expensive but very good as well. The eye-AF is working great – when it’s the right setup – but using the AF outside I prefer Nikon, if it’s starts raining the Sony is useless (or you risk to loose your body) – but most importantly the handling of the Sony is extremly bad. The grip may fit children and the menu is something for computerscience students. In conclusion: The Sony is not an allround camera because I cannot use it in bad weather, for wildlife or sports. It’s a nice indoor camera for lowlight, portrait. Do I buy more lenses for the Sony? Maybe, if they make a suitable body, but neither the A7iii nor the A9 is an alternative to the Nikon D850 or D500.
Well what about this Sony body over on Amazon https://amzn.to/2NjpxVq
Think the Nikon will get the battery mark if the battery is better like you say, yes USB charging is good, but when your out places when you can’t charge or take alot of sports photos, battery is all about how many shots you get per battery…
Not that they’ll see this, but a suggestion when you’re doing these comparison videos is do a side by side with the video itself you’re shooting. You don’t necessarily have to hold the camera in your hand. One picture and the name is all we need to know what you’re talking about. And the pics you put into the video to show what you’re talking about is good. Level up on the video shooting too. Maybe I’m wrong. This video was shot on a canon
Great review thanks guys, only thing I think you missed is Tethered use?
i’m gonna pick nikon , cause durablity and handling are the most important things to me as i mostly do landscape photography
