something I appreciate about the SE series is that I’ve been able to use the same type of accessories/cases since my iPhone 8 – but I look at SE phones like “LTS” linux releases. Won’t get all the bells and whistles but usually get good enough performance where it counts for a long time.

I’m excited for the _next_ iPhone SE, in 2-3 years when the main iphones are notchless and they make an SE in the XR/11 design. That would be a great budget phone.

Ecosystem. That’s why they don’t have to add any of the things suggested. This is the cheapest entry into the ecosystem. It’s the one you buy a kid, or when you drop your main phone, it’s a cheap work phone. Are there lots of phones with better features? Yep. But they don’t have iOS, iMessage, iPhotos etc… (Yes I know they’re not called iMessage or iPhotos anymore)

If they change the phone too much they will have to charge the price. As someone who’s going to replace their 2020 SE with this new SE three I’m glad it’s the same body. all of my cases are gonna fit etc. I like the fingerprint reader.

You got to hate your customers, if you sell such old hardware for such a high price. Even a $ 100 Android Phone has a better screen than that.

The performance is best in class, but I cant help but think that the design is just kind of unacceptable in 2022.

for me, the display and battery life are very important on a device, this lacks behind my XCover Pro, which is 2 years old and launched at a similar price in both departments. However people shopping for an SE probably arent cross shopping because in all honesty, the OS and logo will make this a best seller. I just feel like they could do so much more than this, but intentionally dont in an attempt to push people towards the 13.

Either way, im staying on my XCover until someone else brings something out with a hotswap battery 🙂
