I’m calling it now. Apple will update the iPhone SE to a iPhone 11 or 12 body when they remove the notch from the flagship iPhones.

Doesn’t the Galaxy s22 ultra have a SM840 (4nm) processer? Which is 1nm smaller than the A15 bionic chip (5nm). Also isn’t the SM840 a octa core while the A15 is a hexa core? So shouldn’t the s22’s chip be better than the A15 or am I mistaken?

I think Simple Edition really gets to the heart of this phone’s best market. There’s a comment here about someone who uses it for their gran, and I think that’s a perfect example of the kind of user this phone could be perfect for. A simple iPhone that doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles, is going to last more than a few years, is cheap(ish), easy to use and has a more “old school” interface (i.e. still includes the home button) is a perfect fit for a more tech phobic or non-tech-knowledgable user.

It’s 530€ in Europe which is around 580 USD for the base model with 64GB in 2022. Seems like a joke to me to be honest

I think its SE: Service Edition. Apple increasingly earning more from its services. Giving people an iphone that will last long is the way to get their services easy to get for the consumers.

And sad but true is, apple does not follow the market, they make the market follow them.

At least a iPhone XR body was expected but still this time apple really ruined it. I know some will love it but still for most of the people who want a budget phone this doesn’t give them the best under that price range.
Also, if Apple will want it can easily give XR Body with AMOLED display without making any loss but still they won’t.
Common on Apple, a 210 dollar Xiaomi phone has a AMOLED+120Hz display.

Camera is ok for the price because of the computational photography magic.

@mkbhd i always felt this ws the hook to bring new customers in to the ecosystem. They should have simy re christened the 11 as the updated SE, they would have saved a ton of money and got rid of the unsold inventory. Makes sense?
