Let’s face the fact. Apple is terrible at making budget phones . I would rather recommend XR or 11 over this. SE is like having a Bugatti’s engine in a Dacia Sandero’s chasis. I can’t imagine people trying to edit 4k videos on 4.7 inch screen. Andriods are far better on the budget market and iPhones are better at the premium ones period!

What about an SE version using the body of iPhone X: dual camera system, face ID, larger battery. That could have been the upgrade even a current iPhone SE user would consider. Maybe in the next episode of What if…

The reason they keep using the iPhone 8 body is just product segmentation. If they make this phone look too much like the “standard” iPhone 13 it would totally depredate the sales of the more expensive phones. They want you and everyone to know that you are getting a “lesser” version of the iPhone. The only way to achieve that is to keep an outdated iPhone body in the phone.
Once they move away from the notch and do a significant design update in their flagships the iPhone SE will probably take the shape of the iPhone XR or maybe even iPhone 12/13.

I still use a 2017 SE (I just had the battery replaced) and will until it dies. It’s a perfect form factor and it does everything i need it to. Ha ha

Talking about night mode; i think that he reason for not having night mode is because of the sensor size. It grabs not enough light to actually make good night mode photos. Maybe im wrong but its my assumption. Overall i think the SE is an amazing budget phone, only thing i want for next year is maybe to bump up the hardware. Which i think that will happen when apple figures out an under screen fingerprint reader and stuff like that.
