I really thought they would make this SE an updated XR, would be very similar but I guess the form-factor of smaller with the home button is too popular?

Damn I really wished they would use iPhone 10’s body this time. 8 was outdated even back in 2017, like it looks older than my old Sony Xperia z3 that I bought in 2014 for that same price.

I just want Touch ID back… I’m using the iPhone 11 and face-ID rarely works. No incentive to upgrade to the newer iPhones because they still have Face ID and the feature set has barely changed. For my use case the SE is more tempting than a 13.

All the questions is that they want an easy way to go to the apple ecosystem. Once you go in its not easy to go out.
But for the average everything than the soc, its 400+$ phone with a flagship soc, but below midrange everything. The camera its just the good use of the software like google pixel did also 64gb

for todays use 64 is bare minimum, not like the days of 8gb iphone which was laughable
but you will need 128 to keep up with the rest. so you are 500+ range
this is above midrange and below flagship killer.

Thet could have added a better display and call it a day, but this would hurt the sales of iphone, there are many people that just want a display and a good soc with lots of storage,

-4GB Ram for an iphone is good for now, not for 2-3 years in the future. But you will not keep it so long, 2-3 years is the average for most people.

-The display is crap if you compare it with the similar 500+ price phones. once you go 120 and amoled you will not go back. If Xiaomi uses the same display to a lot of phones, apple would have the same panel as the big boy iphone with just 30$ in cost and they could easily sell you a base 499$ with this display. but this would hurt the sales of the big boy.

-The rest average parts are for debate, not all would need 3-4-5-6-7 cameras and the battery can be charged midday.

This iphone is SE or the cheese in the trap, for you to enter the apple ecosystem.
