I really hope this doesn’t perform well. Apple is more than capable of providing us better than a 720p LCD at the $429 price point but doesn’t bother because they know that people will still buy a device with specs that were outdated 2 years ago. Consumers need to demand better.

If only – for price of ~450 managed to replace the screen – essentially just adding edge to edge screen on the same case + in display fingerprint or face unlock… And it would have been a total winner. That said – they would have to change tooling so , price would be impossible…

I don’t really understand this phone from a consumer’s perspective anymore. If you want a small phone and an iPhone with good specs, just buy a used iPhone 12 or 12 mini off of ebay or swappa or another reseller site. They also have a great chip, better screen, better camera hardware/more camera options, probably better battery(tbd), less bezel, etc. Starting price is similar, could be more or less depending on how you go. I just don’t see this being an intelligent buy from the consumer’s point of view any longer, especially with the price bump. Just buy used, do yourself and the planet a favor.

It’s a sleeper phone with the most basic features and a very powerful processor. Also that fingerprint sensor home button for anyone who misses it (if any).

WoW, a $3 trillion Company still makes a trash product. In 2007, before the launch of 1st iPhone, Steve Jobs said, we can’t ship junk products. Now they are.
Who will pay $429 for the large chin, mediocre battery, and tiny display? Even a $200 phone has adopted a modern design.

I use the previous SE, and with this new one. The is no reason to upgrade to it. Just continue using this one.

Android companies put garbage specs and software in a good looking budget phone phone. Apple puts high specs in a garbage looking phone. They just fill a gap.

Actually, I like the small compact form and I don’t mind the bezels. The only thing that bothers me is battery.

all I can say is that my iphone 12 gets SHIT battery life with 5g on and no wifi. Luckily 5g is still mostly overhyped trash as far as connection speed so LTE is still fine
