Imagine if Apple using the iPhone 8 Plus design for the iPhone SE Plus for $499 with 5G and A15 Bionic, but keeping the regular SE with A13 for $399 i think both with keep selling likes a hotcakes. and that would be more rational for 2022

Apple are no fools. If they give us an extra camera or a bigger battery or a bigger display they would eat into the iPhone mini sales and they can’t have that. They are not Xiaomi who basically canibalises itself by launching ten models within 6 months with the same specs. If the mini series would be a little bit better priced I’m pretty sure they would tear apart the android market but with them being savages and profiting on our desire for smaller phones they basically made the price of mini the same as the bigger model and we come to ask ourselves : do I really want the smaller phone or do I pay a few bucks more for the complete package ?

A lot of people forget the target market for this phone isn’t the kind of person that watches these reviews in the first place. I would imagine a large portion see the same form factor they’ve grown accustomed to since 2007 and would like to stick with it as much as possible. That’s an experience they can’t get with android manufacturers , never mind the OS consistency. The target market isn’t worried about 120 hertz displays, XDR, multiple zoom lenses, and faceID. They want an inexpensive device that will be functional for as long as possible with the lowest outlay of cash. The original SE remained supported for 6 years. This third generation SE may be their second iOS device ever and they’re fine with it. They can’t make QoL sacrifices they never knew existed.

I wonder why or if apple could do a iPhone SE Plus or Max as they like to use it now based on the body of the iPhone 8 plus, since that phone had bigger everything it also had a secondary camera hole that they could use for an ultra wide or a telephoto, but maybe that’s just me xD cause if the standard SE is 450 now, the SE Plus could be 550 still being way cheaper than the rest of the line up while also being a very compelling “mid range” device, I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I find that, that would make apple a more compelling phone, but I guess they want to keep the 13’s sales as sharp as they can be

All I am saying is Just make the screen bigger. The design is fine but why not make it the size of the 8 plus.
I mean at this point It feels like They are making the phone just so that The people could say they own an iPhone. The specs Is no doubt still the best for that Price but It just doesn’t make sense anymore.

Changing the screen design of the se model in the future will do the trick. Also giving it a Face ID . My thoughts though✌️👍

comparatively Apple is the only brand that has the least complex phones and the most easy to get into phone. Samsung phones are really confusing in terms of their design its a tv and they make new types of phone by changing its body! so if i like an old body but want latest internals Only Iphone produces that!

I don’t know why but my trust on Apple is broken, after each update they can slow down the A15 in the name of “protect customers batteries”, I wonder if they already have to make their top phones be better!

It 100% comes down to Touch ID. All the old geezers and tin foil conspiracist hate Face ID but will happily use Touch ID. I’m fairly certain it costs them more to keep production going on an iPhone 8 chasis and it does to use a chasis shared with iPhone X, XR, or 11. They just can’t implement Touch ID on those phones so it wouldn’t make sense to get that customer segment onboard with Face ID.

Honestly, any other time I would have critized apple, here I kinda love their approach. Its good for the environment, good for the budget and good for the son who doesn’t wanna spend the rest of his life explaining to his parents what face Id is and why they need to press the power button and volume button to get the shutdown menu. It’s a great phone and that comes from someone who owns a Z fold2
