Keep on wishing MKBHD but this is to get in “safe” clients in to the eco system and to tempt them to upgrade to one of the newer phones when that time rolls around. And for those that want a “home button” I would just like to ask “Why?” 😂😂😂

Could’ve used the 8+ body which would’ve enabled them to put an ultrawide in there along with a bigger screen and bigger battery and launched that this year for $449-$469 instead of what they did…but ig I kinda understand why they wont wannna do that cus then just a higher definition screen and a slightly better camera setup might not be enough to pull people towards the latest Mini and base iPhone of the year, its big money savings might even attract people away from the Pros given they too are just better at the screen, battery and camera setup parts (much bigger difference tho)…but u could oppose that saying that better version of the SE would sell much much more and would get apple a big chunk of the budget segment (in N. America, Eu) and the midrange market (in places like India).
I think the best thing for apple to do for both themselves and customers looking for phones in this price segment is put it in the XR body. That’ll give it a bigger (similar definition tho) screen (even the XR’s big bezels and notch would be better than the current design) and larger battery while still enabling apple to keep just one camera at the back (I think they could put an ultrawide there, it could digitally crop in for the regular sized photos and use the full ultrawide when people want it). This would be a very good setup imo.

So it’s an OK phone with a few flaws, display is too small, battery too small, and people want at least a dual camera setup for more versatility… Apple just needs to make a plus version for the love of God, there is a demand

The from factor is already bad enough as of 2022.
Imagine a few years later where a 90hz, big and bright display as well as 5000mh battery is the norm in even the most budget budget phone. The specs that outperform other phones are not gonna be on par with the specs from other phones that outperform it and, all in all this isn’t gonna be a good buy even as a longevity phone.
If you have 430 dollars, it’d make a lot more sense for you to buy a mid range android(heck I’m using a Poco f3 with flagship processor, display and batter life for 350$) instead of an SE.
That is, unless you really wanna enter apple’s ecosystem, no matter the price.
