Apple won’t use “a crappy” 120Hz display. One reason is that, as everyone must know by now, it will cut battery life significantly. Look at the Android phones that did that. They had to turn 90 and 120 Hz off most of the time because of that. That’s why apple invented the LPTO display that Samsung copied and is being used for this purpose. It’s more expensive, so only in high end phones.

A full screen would also cost more. Apple is thinking of the maximum they could do within the price envelop. But do I recommend it? Only sometimes. I’ve recommended the Mini over this, but we’ve been told by the talking heads that Apple is discontinuing it. I suppose, despite all of the negatives to go with the positives, more people buying smaller, less expensive iPhones actually prefer the SE to the Mini. I’m surprised, but there’s a good $100 difference, so maybe not that surprised.

This design has been looking super cute for a long time. But cameras are quite questionable with 7mp front and 12mp back. Battery life turns horrible if it’s used for shooting videos or games.

Otherwise great in-hand feel it looks classy from any angle.

These phones are perfect for my 60+ parents. They need a reliable smartphone with a home button that doesn’t break the bank and since I am their personal IT, I need a device that I am familiar with in case they need help with their settings or other issues.
