This Makes me wonder WHY COULD NT THEY DO THIS FOR EVERY TOP IPHONE MODELS LIKE FOR THE PROS AND MAX IN EVERY 3-5 years at least. Imagine Body of iphone 13 pro and max with few changes here and there But with upgraded insides Every year can easily last for 3-5 years.

That screen bezel is a crime. Pixel a line has better screens at a similar price. Why sacrifice a modern screen for a fast chip that the phone can barely take advantage of?

I’m still rocking the 1st gen SE, but I’ll probably move over to the gen 3. I’m really happy with the life I’ve gotten out of the phone!
The only real issue I’ve had is 3rd party apps not supporting the screen resolution properly. Buttons will appear nearly (or completely) off the bottom of the screen with no ability to scroll down. 😅

My prediction is the next generation of the SE, let’s say in 2024. Will be using the same body as the iPhone minis currently. I dont see Apple sticking with the mini body in their flagship models much longer, and that change would allow them to make the next SE even better since they have been manufacturing the body of the mini for the last 2 yerars

Great review! I’ll only call the SE the “Simple Edition” from now on. I just upgraded from the SE ’20 to the 13 Pro Max and obviously such a huge upgrade. Apple needs to make 128GB the bare min on all their phones!

If rumours of Apple culling the iPhone 14 mini are true, then perhaps the next gen iPhone SE 4 will switch to being based on the 13 Mini – which would solve most of the imbalance you highlight.
But I would then expect it to bump prices up to the ~$500 mark…
I had been looking to finally upgrade my beloved iPhone 8, but will defer decision for another year… 😂

Pixel 5a or upcoming 6a or A53/A52 are overall better than SE (now don’t say me about Eco system, people buying SE are not into “ECO SYSTEM “)
