It’s a phenomenal shame that Apple charges 100 dollars more in India, for just 64 gb of storage, due to import duty! Technically 529 dollars for a phone so basic.

I work for one of the big three carriers. Over the last two years we have taken in thousands of trade ins. So many were 8s trading in for 11 and 12, and even still for the 13. Makes you realize where these trades are going lol. Tear apart, disinfect and make the new SE lol

Seems like a good phone if you just want the phone to look flashy and prominently display the Apple logo so people know you are using an apple phone. The home button has good haptics so that’s one consolation…

I think you are overselling the longevity of the A15. It will age much better than a Qualcomm or Samsung chip, but performance will still degrade massively. I have an iPad with an A10, which is now a five year old chip and the system feels barely usable. Audio playback cuts out when doing CPU intensive stuff like switching apps, it sometimes freezes for a second or two, when opening spotlight e.g.
Even my iPhone with an A12 is starting to feel a bit slow. It’s still perfectly usable, but it drops frames sometimes, bringing up the keyboard takes a bit longer, opening submenus in settings takes a while, etc.
I think this is just an inevitable problem, with these rapidly evolving operating systems. I have similar issues with newer versions of Mac OS on my 2017 MBP, or Windows 11 on a KabyLake-R notebook. These companies just don’t optimize for older devices. The experience get’s tuned for the newest and most powerful devices, while “barely running” is considered good enough for older ones and if it doesn’t they simply drop support.

Pretty good but I don’t like the round body never have, which is why I was super happy they went back to the hard corner bodies. If this had that I’d get one. Can we expect a video on the latest iPad Air?

😔 I do miss Touch ID! It’s what keeps me from rushing out and getting each new flagship iPhone. I have the 11 Pro Max and sorta considered the new SE but I also don’t want to give up the cameras. What a conundrum.
