Yahhh, I miss “Tuesday” Newsday….
hahahah give out my face data stuff, nope.
ganna take more than a small profile to … mane cmon mane…
I was a little worried about it… until you said it has a better mic then the index XD
I am willing to wait for the review, but I will be watching this product
The face scan and IPD might be a dealbreaker – because you can’t show people VR that easily anymore if they’re fitted to one’s face… Also I expect my prescription to change over the years. Can’t imagine that they won’t offer exchange lenses, but still… Lens-insets would be nice.
You are absolutley right, I do not get this at all, it seems very bad and not at all something I want from a VR headset.
Man that early adopters tax is harsh. The appeal of a PCVR-only headset, to me at least, would be the reduced price with all the other standalone components removed in favour of better form factor and display quality. Even as an enthusiast I can’t reason spending AU$1600 for 90Hz. Looking forward to the review. Maybe they’ll consider a cheaper model down the line with less pedantic customization that _requires_ a fking iPhone to scan your own face. I mean seriously.
This whole thing is just really flippin’ cool, I’m a quest 2 user who’s into steamVR more than i have any right to be, i’ve purchased high end headstraps, link cables, desktop vr, heck, i even bought three vive 3.0 trackers and two 2.0 base stations for FBT. I don’t really take my quest anywhere either, so this new headset is like a dream come true for me, a lightweight high def vr headset that i already have the stuff to use, with a (somewhat) reasonable price tag. Only drawback for me is that i like to share my quest with my family and that’s just not going to be possible, but i suppose i could just chuck the quest 2 at them and say something along the lines of, “Use this peasant!” and then go frolicking in the virtual fields
Did somebody say OLED?
Are you aware that the link to the outro you used in your video no longer works???
I hope this turns out well.
is base station tracking better than inside out tracking?
If it wouldn’t need base stations and could work with Quest controlles I would probably pre-order one it’s so cool. I hope with the Quest4 they will reach almost this good form factor, picture quality and comfort.
Thrill, (or anyone) do you know if the prescription inserts can have prism in them, for people with double vision? If they do I will 100% be buying this on release
This looks like a dream come true, so too bad I am broke
That’s two trustworthy ones that say this could become there main PCVR headset… (Cas also…)
The low paper specs are probably so they can release a MK2 with just a “firmware update”.
people underestimate how much weight takes away from immersion, this looks good but its a bit pricey considering it is litterally a cutdown headset that has good pannels
Wow… 90hz in 2023? :/
Custom fitted makes total sense. It’s like custom in-ear monitors – that’s how you go when you want the best of the best, and you don’t share earphones anyway.
