Really not cool with dishonest people. And he’s greedy also not care for others including the brother cause he’s probably not care if he’s well prepared as well. I think u need to reflect this to the local police so other people won’t get into same problems. I bet that’s why the hikers were trying to let u know. It’s an activity that need guides who are well versed and we trained with experience. What is the company name or better yet, share their names in case they reopen their store. U have to tell this story on the hiker’s webpage. It shitty thing happened to us too in Caribbean… we all got PTSD from it. They charged us $100 for one person. Thinking about it, we were really dumb cause 100 could be their whole month of expenses. And we give them $1000 for our family. We ended up almost died in the wave on banana boats. No life jackets. With kids on board. We were so lucky and those ppl were dicks. Unbelievable. Some people just cheat on others being trustworthy. We just need to be more careful when doing things. Better have someone more credible to recommend. At least if a hotel recommends the place, they need to be responsible too.
