i think its pretty obvious that anya doesnt speak properly,since she grew up in a bad orphanage she hasnt learned how to properly speak and behave,plus,shes extremely young

So where does 母親 and 父親 fit into all of this? I think I heard some royalty in one piece using these with their own parents a looooong time ago.

確かにfatherなどと英語で父親に対して呼ぶことはあっても、日本語で父親に「ちち」と言うことはないですね。「ちち」と呼ぶことで独特のユーモアが生まれているんですが、翻訳の難しいところです。「お前と仲良くしたいです」の「お前」も翻訳困難ですね。”you”としか訳されておらずリアクターは誰も笑っていませんでしたが、原作では視聴者の多くが笑ってしまう箇所です。
もちろん翻訳者が頑張ってる箇所もありますよ。「あじゃじゃます」が”Fank you very much”だったり、「いてらさい」が”Have a knees day”だったりするのは割と雰囲気が出ているのではと思います。

I also have a question: i read some time ago that お母さん and お父さん with the prefix お can sound a little “childish” for an adult, so they are more likely to say 母さん and 父さん. It’s true? Thanks for the response!

Excellent explanation. And great reminder that Anya is younger than 6 (she lied to Loid so he would adopt her) so that’s why she speaks incorrectly, just like any other child

I got this, but then I remembered in Attack on Titan, in the first episode, Shadis says something that sounds like, “Moses no haha da,” to another Scout saying “it’s Moses’ mother”, but it doesn’t sound quite like “haha.” Idk if anyone can answer, but is he using another form of the word, like an older form that would have been used?
