I think lloyd wanted her to call him otousama instead of papa or otousan is cuz hes aiming to go to a prestigious school with rich people in it, and rich people often call their parents otousama and okaasama
Chi chi haha sounds cuter 🙂
Awesome video! I did noticed that Anya was addressing her parents as haha and chichi but didn’t really understand why.
Can you also address when characters use 父上 and 母上? I noticed these seem to be used when one is addressing their parents very formally, like if they are royalty?
This is honestly kind of adorable..! I can imagine the situational difference between chichi/haha and otousan/okaasan would be really hard for a child of her age to grasp, much like how children of her age who are English speakers have trouble with tenses. It’s also very indicative of her personality that she prefers chichi/haha, short and cute! Thanks for the great video!
LOL non-japanese speakers trying to correct a japanese man. Weebs are the worst.
Thank you for clearing this up. In some of the lessons I’ve read it’s not always explained how to use chichi and haha or okaasan and otousan. This I understand.🥰
Interesting. Its cool how it gives that extra flavor to the character.
I will say they did try to convey that she mispronounces things in english because she’s so young but english is a very simple language from a grammatical standpoint so even toddlers don’t mess up grammar like what you see with more grammatically complicated languages so its hard to convey in english, simple mispronunciations are about as close as you can get.
I’ve always felt her way of speaking kinda off, like she’s intentionally pretending to be cute and innocent. Then again she can read people’s mind so she’s probably in acting mode all the time.
I mean… they’re portraying a kid. Not an adult. Idk tell me.
Or…..
It’s on purpose to make her sound cute.
Can we all just appreciate how kyube is just staring into our souls through the camera
Can i say it without the “o” at the front?
I think the part where Damian calls her with omae it’s just because of his personality, not because of his feelings since Anya also calls him omae
anya says it that way cos shes actually reading the minds of the viewers & shes putting the thoughts directly into their heads so its like shes talking to someone else thats present; the viewers
The reason is because she didn’t study
There’s a similar convention in Chinese. You can refer to your parents as “父母” (fumu). It would be oddly formal to call your own parents 父 or 母; 爸 (ba) or 媽 (ma) is more typical. That said, you could refer to someone else’s parents as “their parents” (他的父母), though it’s more common to say “their dad and mom” (他的爸媽).
put some loli in the thumbnail and gets more click
I am severely upset at this video
Anja is allowed to do anything
did anyone think that maybe she uses those words because she’s repeating what other kids have said to her in the past? it’s implied that she never knew her bio parents, so she would only know the terms that someone would use when referring to their parents in conversation WITH her. just a thought.
But in samurai dramas they say chichiue and hahaue to call their parents.
