Yeah I mean most kids that age call their parents mama and papa in Japan, otousan and okaasan usually comes later or depends on how strict the parents are.
My husband always calls his parents ‘okaa’ and ‘otou’ which I found kinda rude at first but it just shows how close they are tbh
I make sure to always add ‘san’ so I don’t come off as ill-mannered😅
how about “boku no haha”?
Waku Waku
Does she not know better? It very often looks like she is unaware.
this is like calling your mom and dad with mother and father
o tfw i was one of those comments sry
Yuri: Well? Have you mastered the grammar now?
Anya: What’s a “grammar”?
Yuri: Okay, this is a massive waste of my time!!
lol
No, okaasan and otousan are not cute enough, thus haha and chichi are the best
chichi to haha ichaicha
I have been learning Japanese for a long time but I did not know about the first point! ありがとうございます!
Oh! Thank you!
This is interesting! I was a bit surprised when the anime came out and Anya wasn’t actually saying papa and mama, especially because I am used to hearing characters her age say that. I think the manga was able to represent Anya’s odd speech fairly well but the parental names really got lost in translation there. Papa and mama are very casual in English but I can see why the words were chosen. You wouldn’t really call someone else’s dad their “papa” for the most part, though depending on your background you might hear someone call someone else’s mom their “momma/mama”. Fascinating.
Where do you watch anime with romaji english and japanese subs??
very informative. will use this for ur mom jokes in japanese👍🏻
Chichi no chinchin
Even in Naruto .. itachi used to call his parents 父上母上 !!! Is it correct?!
Bruh complicated, so haha and chichi only for own family use not outsiders?
Anya is adopted?
I always just thought her saying chi chi and haha
Is like practice for her so she can sound correctly for the interview
But I know she’s been talking wrong other times
Chichi and haha sounds cuter
