I think the read I like best on her strange way of referring to parents is, as an orphan, she’s not exactly practiced referring to her OWN parents. She knows that chichi and haha are words FOR parents, and, when everyone around her is referring to parents in this sort of ‘outside’ way, it makes sense that she would pick that up. I was in my teens before I broke the habit of calling my aunts and uncles as “Uncle _____” and “aunt ______” because, for my entire youth, my family made a point of using those titles in order to get my young mind to wrap my head around the distinctions, and somewhere along the line it sort of transitioned into part of their name, the way I used it.

Exactly. I am not sure how that is expressed in the English subtitles, but her Japanese language skills are poor. That is why, from our Japanese point of view, she seems very cute whenever she speaks.
What is unique about her is that somehow she has a rich vocabulary. She knows some mature words. But she uses those words in the wrong places. That is what makes her strange and cute.

Correct me if im wrong, but it could also be due to the fact that she always refersto herself as third person, almost as if shes telling the story of her life with herself as a character, so her saying haha and chichi makes sens in that sense too doesnt it?

Would you mind helping me understand the differences and implications between the two pairs of terms:
Chi-Chi/Shichiue
Ha-Ha/Hahaue

I noticed the latter terms only being used in situations where respect/honor is paramount (royal courts, military settings, diplomatic meetings, etc.). I also saw it as laying down a barrier of respect, as if to say, “We all know that you are my parent, but I understand you are also a leader of others outside my blood family, and our blood does not change the fact you have very important duties that take priority over myself and my needs.”

My understanding was, Anya understands Loid and Yor have important duties that take precedence over her need for a loving family. She does whatever she can to make sure that their duties go smoothly first, so they can continue to be this family that she needs. Loid, when suggesting a more distant/formal nickname for “father,” Anya responded with what she knew still respects a bit that distance he wants while keeping a bit of hope for closeness later on (as if to say, “I know you’re on an important mission right now, but when you’re done with that, you can just be my papa and we can be close all we want [To-chan, maybe?]”). Until that day, she might specifically be using “Chi-chi” and “Ha-ha” as a compromise between maintaining that respectful distance and actually sounding like a 5-6 year old girl.

The answer is too simple that no one thought of -_-
You mentioned a part of the answer about ( how young she is )
The second part of the answer is ( she apparently was not raised in a proper environment)
So she has a weak vocabulary to choose words from.

Huh. Now Im very confused, is there a difference to when they say “hahaue” or “chichiue” (no idea if thats the correct way to write)? Trying to remember examples, but the only one coming now is Garaa’s son in Boruto. He calls Gaara “chichiue”. Is he using it incorrectly then, or is it because he is adopted too?

I always thought chichi and haha were the correct way to address your parents in a more intimate way.
I remember as well in Soul Eater one of the characters in battle calls for his father by screaming Chichi so I thought it was a more loving way of addressing them. 😛 welp I guess I was wrong

Am pretty sure its supposed to reflect that Anya is 4 and not very educated when it come to that kind of thing.She is also very…well,not rude,but she does give the impression that she doesnt care what people think and i think that her not using word correctly just work fine.
