well the thing is chichi and haha is iconic words to anya’s character , but either thanks for teaching
It is true, the subs don’t do a good job in showcasing Anya’s speech issues, only giving us very basic ways of understanding that she’s saying certain things wrong. This is usually done as misspellings. Now while some of those fit (Like her mispronouncing a name), others likely don’t fit as much (One I keep thinking is likely wrong is changing “Outing” to “Ooting”. Sadly I don’t know Japanese enough to know if she’s merely mispronouncing the word, or saying an incorrect word).
It would be cool if subs would leave a note stating why her language is wrong, but it’d probably be too long to properly explain it. All I know though, is that hearing Anya call Loid “Chichi” the first time was very cute.
To be honest even i prefer chichi and haha to the right pronunciations
First of all she’s 4. This video exist cos no body uses Occam’s Razor, Loid said it Anya is not that smart at the point she can not use money in the correct way now you want her to use a language the correct way? Of course this happens cos she’s 4.
I’m not a grammarian, so that might be coloring my perception a bit, but I don’t think her speech is “incorrect” at all.
I love Anya, shes so cute
bcs anya is fool.. dats why 😂 she need to learn more
I cant think another reason to Anya to misspronunce, talk about herself in third person, to say chichi/haha, than being even more adorable.
Korean often like to group themselves with Japanese language (which is Japonic) due to grammar similiarity. But many countries share similiar grammar like Chinese and English. Hindi and Korean both follow the same SOV word order (Subject + Object + Verb)
there’s so many anime which also used the term chichi and haha the same way as Anya… some said “chichiue” or “hahaue”, I think it’s normal to call your mother or father like that like how we use “okaa-san” and “otou-san”.. thanks for the correction….
personally as a person who don’t know jack shit about Japanese language, i find it so cute when she say chichi and haha, like papa and mama but makes sound 10x cuter.
Wait, Anya is younger than 6?
*haha*
hahahaa-
Linguistic aside, presumably those terms are practicality easy to say for children
I noticed that difference and I was wondering why. Thank you for explaining this!! This makes sense and now I see the depth of emotional growth/distance it could have
I find this information very important because Spy×Family is a must watch.
Also she saying “Daijoubu-masu” is so cute XD

I haven’t studied a lot of Japanese, but having taken a few university classes on Japanese, it left me really perplexed when she called Loid 父 and the subtitles said “Papa”.
When the comments think that they know more Japanese than the Japanese itself haha
