I always appreciate all the monogatari series references you use in your videos
Bakemonogatari joke just killed me! ROFL!
I loved this vid, I was wondering how the translation went.
Could we have a video on Kotaro Lives Alone, please?
Must protecc the cutie!!

Mr Yuta Please make another video but its about Yor Using Keigo.
shes been mis using kiego too much in theseries but its not a bad thing tho, Since every sentences Yor is saying is Keigo then she will probably the best example of learning polite japanese in Anime, but shes just using it in a really weird way.
唐突の化物語ネタで笑った
2:08 haha chinchin XD
Chichi is how Anya would call Loyd to somebody who is not her family?
But Loyd is not her family.
Not a yutas video without a monogatari reference
So he is not her real father, could the fact she refers to him as chichi be in reference to that? kind of like how you referenced you would refer to your father when speaking with an outsider? Maybe I am reading into it too much. Thank you for providing clarity on this topic.
Nice
Reffering to one’s self by it’s name is considered childish everywhere, from what I know, and kids do it because they mimic the way adults refer to them, and that is by their name.
2:06 Only men of culture can understand that
Question: I was reading a fantasy manga where everyone was nobility and the MC addressed his father as 父上 (ちちうえ)and his mother as 母上(ははうえ)Is this also incorrect or would this work in a (probably unrealistic in modern day) high class nobility environment?
I’m just learning Japanese and even i have notice that Anya’s speech pattern is strange and unique
Okay okay, I will watch spy x family, no need to throw threats around!
Huh, I didn’t know the meaning of chichi and haha before, but knowing it now gives me a whole new appreciation of the material. I suspect Anya speaks to her parents this way because their family isn’t actually “real”. She probably isn’t doing it consciously, but it reflects the nature of their relationship. It’s a very clever bit of characterization, and a shame they weren’t able to include that nuance in the translation.
…Or maybe I’m overthinking it and it’s just because Anya is so cute.
I think Anya speaks cute and even if I am new with grammar of Japanese as I am learning basic Kanji and grammar I could easily understand she did have massive grammar mistakes
If I’m not mistaken there’s a lot of Japanese terms to express emotions with double words like waku waku ( excitement) and doki doki ( heart beating) i find that interesting
Just a theory but maybe Anya’s choice of words is deliberate by the creators , take into consideration that Anya is not Japanese nor is the series setting is within the Japanese culture, so her choice of words might be to distinguish between the foreign culture and the Japanese culture
