Anya- “Father and mother are both fun and I love them!”
Japanese man Yuta- this is perfect.
Me- your damn right, it’s perfect. It’s Anya.
Its funny because to me haha and chichi sound a lot more familiar than otousan or okaasan…
Haha sounds like mommy and chichi like daddy, but that will be incorrect.
aricat !!!
i’v tried to subscribe to your email course…every time it says that that ive been subscribed…but i never receive any emails
I love how you analyze anime and teach us Japanese! ゆた先生、ありがとうございます!
in short…cute supremacy
Decided to start learning Japanese because a lot of Japanese media that I want to enjoy hasn’t been, (and probably never will be) translated to English
This is perfect, I’m learning pretty fast from you :’D
Since Anya was getting measured by a tailor I wonder if “length” was actually correct. You measure length in terms of the inseam or sleeves and such.
After watching this I have to wonder how much of Anya’s speech is influenced by her ability to read other’s peoples thoughts. Like, the seamstress could be thinking about the length of the dress she has to make when measuring Anya, so she uses that word when talking immediately after hearing it.
In addition to the double-meaning of “ochiru” that was lost in translation, the form Loid uses in the scene, “ochita”, kind of sounds like “oh, sh*t”.
I thought she used those words to refer to her “parents” because it’s a fake family.
Isn’t the way Anya saying chichi and haha kinda correct because they aren’t her real parents?
She’s still a child so maybe she doesn’t know how to use the right word.
Also I’ve been wondering why Akari-chan from Laid Back Camp calls her elder sister (Aoi) by her name instead of Onee-chan
Came here for cute Anya, stayed for lessons on a language I don’t speak. Enjoyed both parts thoroughly.
4:38 now i know where’s Anya’s word come from😂
sorry man, Kyuubei just sitting there like “Pss Anya, wanna be a magical girl?”
You hear japanese, I hear the language of angels when I hear Anya
it’s ok she’s 5 years old ❤️
2:08 Ayooo…
Love monogatari reference <3
