Deep Purple passé à la moulinette Rainbow….Ahahah! J’ai adoré cela…Blackmore make the rules bien épaulé en cela par Glover…Je n’aurais pas voulu être à la place de Paice, Lord et Gillan. Mais désolé, c’est Blackmore qui vous a fait et vous a ramené là, au pinacle aussi grands musiciens que vous soyez. Revenchard et mauvais comme la gale il impose ses vues et son style, permet au groupe moribond de renaître et signe encore une petite merveille…Désolé les gars mais contre ce diable de Ritchie, on ne peux rien faire ou alors on survit, comme vous tentez de le faire depuis qu’il est parti. J’ai pleuré bien des gens dont Jon Lord ou John Bonham, Paul Raymond, Phil Lynott, Dio, Lemmy, Cozy Powell pour ne citer que ceux-là. Mais le jour où le père Blackmore s’en ira je ne m’en remettrai pas. Le rock sera définitivement mort et enterré…

I remember a time when i was younger maybe around 12-13ish, i was in bed with a bad cold and high fever. Weeks earlier my parents handed me some stuff from their music collection since i’ve been getting into playing guitar and wanted inspiration on what to learn. Well there i was laying in bed and sort of fading in and out of sleep, as you do when you have a fever, listening to all the stuff they gave me on headphones.

After a while when i was fast asleep again i remember this song coming on and the Intro sort of perked me up but i was kind of in this limbo between being awake and dreaming and i remember just being in awe of the pictures this song painted in my mind. It’s hard to describe but it made me feel a warmth and vigour at the same time, like “screw this you can do anything if you want to, you can climb every mountain you want if need be!”.

Been fascinated ever since by it and i come back every now and then to listen to it when i need motivation.

Beautiful intro from Ritchie. I remember hearing this on the radio at home and hoping the rest of the album was as good. It wasn’t.
I’m not surprised Ritchie pulled the plug in Europe, Ian sounds terrible, a shadow of his former self.
On the Come Hell…video, he sounds even worse, and the clichéd headbanging at the age of 48 was pitiful.
Noone can be cool all the time, but you don’t have to be a travesty.
