Never tried bib shorts, I have been riding with padded undershorts for the last 6 months or so, trying some padded shorts that don’t need an extra layer tomorrow, and may give bibs a go in the near future
Manon is 🔥🔥🔥
(Love the channel, too..)
is Manon extra hot in this video or what?!
Just wear what you feel comfy in. Very patronising “advice”.
Lycra???? Yuk.
Just wear normal shorts. Job done.
I bought my first bib pants from a bike shop last weekend. I started biking again after 25 years off the saddle.
I have shorts from 1995 with actual shami in it. I prefer them over the newer ones I bought on line.
I liked the bib pants so far. Will probably try bib shorts next spring when it warms up.
Hi to Manon from Vancouver Canada.
I clicked because it’s Manon. And I have with straps and one with no straps. And I do think the straps is really a problem when you go to toilet.
It would be also great if she would also mentioned trustful brands for different price ranges
I’m new to cycling, do you wear underwear with bibs?
How’s about a video on choosing shorts? How do you get a good fit? How to make sure the pad is the right size and placed correctly? How tight should the grippers be to avoid rucking? Does anyone do a bespoke fitting service? etc., etc.
I need bib shorts without the padding. Does anyone know of any?
You do realize shorts without the shoulder straps are just called “shorts?”
Nice!
I have a Terry Bike saddle and always get Terry shorts, never realized it’s probably because they fit their own saddles.
I’ve ridden a somewhat padded saddle on a less sporty bike for about 11 years, no cycling shorts. Switching to a gravel bike with a very clearly road bike type saddle, I never felt that the saddle was uncomfortable. I now own a pair of cycling shorts just because they were available conveniently and very affordably and I’m not yet caught up as to why they are so great in terms of comfort.
I get all the arguments for aerodynamics, weight, sweat handling and so on, but the padding has not yet convinced me.
I prefer to ride in the nude. Please refrain from judging…
You don’t need to wear underwear with cycling shorts. In fact, you need NOT to. Two reasons: 1) the inner layer is designed to make contact with your skin. 2) Your undie lines will show through the tight Lycra, and everyone will know you’re doing it wrong.
If you aren’t riding in a pair of cycling shorts, well, you could always improve the comfort factor of your ride by replacing the bike seat with a pole. They really do make long rides that much more achievable and if you value your body and it’s sensitive areas, they are an absolute must.
Cycling bib shorts should design/integrate a seamless zip for nature breaks to avoid taking everything off!
