I bought cycling shorts instead now. I only use bib shorts on short rides (less than 20 miles) as it makes peeing more of a chore as i have to take my top and bag off to then take my bib shorts down.
Well its way more confi for the dingle dongle or the hill-valley region.
I started cycling around a year ago. At the beginning I started wearing regular clothes….. then someone advised me to buy cycling shorts….which I did from Amazon…..meh…. Then I saw the bibs and I was like why are they sooo expensive…. I went to Amazon and bought a bib set for 35.00 dollars…. Which I used normally and I was ok with them…. Then I decided to invest in a better quality bib… and I went and bought an specialized bib that cost me around 120.00 dollars…. Oh boy. The difference is humongous!!! Better fit better grip better comfort. Keep the body cool on climbing keeps me ventilated and not struggling at all. Now I look at this video and see the people saying they won’t invest much….trust me they’re worth it. Maybe not spending 300 dollars but at least spend in a good pair. Your butt will thank you with time.
I don’t get the need for the shoulder straps. My cycling shorts don’t fall down. Is this a common problem? Or maybe the benefit is getting rid of elastic at the waist for comfort.
She kept a straight face while talking about cycling shorts
I would never have the courage to wear any of these cycling clothes that just stick to your skin. It would just be so embarrassing I don’t know how you all do it
I find from these videos that cyclists today are under a lot of misconceptions about how we managed in the old days. In the forties and fifties most club cyclists wore corduroy shorts with a double seat, which was not for extra padding, but to increase the length of wear. I know it may seem strange to the cyclists of today, but we actually got used to riding direct on the leather saddles of the day which we actually broke into our shape. We spent whole days in the saddle and I don’t remember anyone being saddle sore.
If you cycle on a daily basis your bum will get used to it in about 10 to 14 days
Women in lycra is great.. but not everyone likes seeing blokes arses leading the way in Their skimpy costumes, wiggling about.
Black Bibs for the win.
Probably it’s worth more than my bike.
I wonder why there isn’t much research done on making saddle more comfortable…
Haven’t ridden in years. Have the improved it for easier bathroom use?
Kh… Fifth contact point maybe..
I don’t wear bike shorts because they don’t agree with my hairy legs.
Also philosophical preference for not having specialist gear when everyday stuff will do.
What I’ve always wondered… If the main benefit is the padding, why don’t you just get a softer saddle??
I can’t lie, she gets more beautiful to me every time 🙂
If you don’t wear bib shorts, but use a padded seat cover, you’re only kidding yourself
“Why you should invest in bib shorts !”
You did not get the answer.
Here is part of it. You’ll need “suspenders” because manufactures no longer make bicycle short you can adjust the fit on.
Are you a seasonal cyclist? Yes, so you have some weight change. Now the manufacturers want you to get shorts with ‘heavy’ waist belts to fit your off season & your fit season. (Anyone notice the waist gripper or adjustment missing from the video?)
This also applies to chamois padding. Have trouble with butt pain or discomfort? You’re going to need a drawer full of one make of bicycle shorts. Or the padding thickness is going to change your fit to the bicycle. Yes, long distance riders usually use thinner padding. Take a look a “tri” shorts, thin abbreviated chamois (small in size, width), but you can still find them with draw cords to adjust size.
Now that you know where to look for adjustable cycling shorts, consider the very thin padding. Not going to work if you haven’t got a perfect saddle fit. Might be time to mention any seams in the shorts construction – you’ll feel them.
I am still using a comfortable bike seat. In this manner, I can continue paying my mortgage.
It would be good if there is any kind of graph to show the results of the pool in 8:00.
The video is awesome as all the content you create. Congrats
