I prefer shorts without the bib. Thoughts?
she’s the Goddes of cycling ever convince me to buy very expensive cycling short
I have shorts with leather chamois & no padding, they are more comfortable for me than the “Full-load” diapers with TOO much padding that most “modern” shorts have
the real reason for change is chamois is expensive, the makers got cheap
One thing I’ve experienced is chafing just outside the saddle where the lycra is stretching against the skin. Especially on the Assos BIB’s where they have made the fabric narrower in the center part (business area) and also towards the rear causing chafing against the saddle. Therefore one thing to look at when choosing a new BIB for me, is how much the shammy extends over the padded part. I just compare the shammy with the most expensive ASSOS BIB you can get (and can’t use due to chafing).
My cycling shorts are no more or less comfortable than bib shorts. The only reason I bought bib shorts was because some of my cycling jerseys are so short at the front, my skin would be exposed without bib shorts.
GCN i wish you see that comment cause I dream a bike like that but my money its not enough because I’m only student, I wish someday I have a bike like any road bike type.
I finally settled on Top Shelf bibs from Aero Tech Designs and never looked back. Great fit, comfortable chamois (with modesty shield for us shy guys, variety of designs, at an affordable price. Made in the USA also!
Manon is the boss of gcn now!! kudossss!!
Can u advise the best BIB shorts available online
ride a recumbent and you don’t have to worry about tight shorts!
mm.. Castelli advert..
If you’re a commuter and you buy bib shorts don’t you need to fresh ones a day? For a minimum weekly count of 10? That’s a £2000 investment. Unless you are all advocating reusing sweaty bib shorts daily without washing 🤢
if yall like handcycling videos, it would mean a lot if yall checked out my channel. thanks yall. as for bib shorts, my dad loves his so, based off that I would recommend them.
25 pounds? They can’t weigh that much.
I paid just under 50$ Canadian with tax for my cycling shorts. They were normally 80$ before tax. They are nice but will need replacing next year as they are due to be changed. Definitely agree to get a decent pair. Mine were worth every penny and then some.
Castelli with straps, €130 – c`mon really ??
I will always miss Matt but Manon’s cool. But the least she can do is fail to clip in every now and again.
Man, in my bike messenger days just over 30 years ago it was just a soft leather chamois but it was fine for 60 miles of sprinting in traffic a day. But there is a side effect, by boys were smooth and shiny like someone polished them! Better than the jeans I started in, January in Canada so they had a felt liner, for about three weeks. The bike shorts also keep you much safer going over street car tracks when you don’t quite get high enough over that saddle. Us ‘em, they make a huge difference, wick your sweat to the surface and a good pair lasts.
I put on my new bib and my teenage daughter immediately said, “OMG, what is wrong with him” I looked in the mirror and realized how ghey I looked and immediately tossed out all my cycling kits.It made me realize I got too wrapped up in cycling. Now I just were a pair of LG cycling short under a loose pair of running shorts with a T-shirt (loose fit). No longer look like a douche club rider….
I used to work as a courier cycling 6-12 hours 6 days a week. I always just wore standard shorts/trousers. Hard saddle on my fixie, never had any pains. Each to their own though.
