First
You should do one abt enduro racing
Money definitely gives you the upper hand, but you can perform just as well with a $500 bike
Like the channel but sick of YouTube “shorts”. Not watching content submitted in the form of Tik Tok videos.
Great vid and a nice nod to the cheaper end of the xc spectrum!
Down country
I purchased my 1st down country bike. With 130mm travel it’s everything I need for smashing Utah. It’s my favorite bike. I’m selling two of my trail bikes.
90% of people essentially ride cross country, so that means about 60% of people are overbiked
Just get a 29er that has been proven and call it good. My 2011 Epic FSR is only a few seconds slower on my local trail segments than my 2022 DC race bike. It’s more about the rider than anything else. There is a line though. Showing up with a 1992 Stumpjumper M2, while once awesome, will be a considerable disadvantage to your competitors.
Your videos are so much fun to watch.
Just about anything used is fine as long as it was taken care of😁
The 2nd Scott shown in the video has 1990s geometry and components. Not sure if that’s the right way to go.
Grew up riding XC in the 90s. Bike was rubbish but had so much fun. Owned a few nicer bikes since, but can’t beat the excitement and adventure of riding rough, rock strewn “trails” (on bikes without suspension), with your mates and getting home sometime around sunset.
XC, fitness really matters. Bike comes 2nd
he may find that he has more fun on the HT
Yes they are worth it
And screw gravel bikes.
I had that very same Scott Scale 50 and absolutely loved it. Bought it in around 2005 and only sold it in 2021 after I cracked the head tube. (I re-soldered it first)
What is the difference between mountain bike xc and road bike xc? I mainly feel road bike is the true xc version
I have an specialzed chisel bit somehow i dont enjoy ridong it
Save up to 1k and you get some decent bikes. Modern bike geometry is important. If you save a bit more. I have seen a full sus for 1.7k with full six. Anyways I love hardtails because super efficient and easy to maintain.
