If the argument is that cyclists shouldn’t be sharing the same road as a semi going 70mph on the interstate, I agree. However, streets in dense cities and residential areas should be perfectly safe for everyone.

City streets should be designed to stop cars from going more than 20mph

Cyclists in my state do have full use of the roadway and have to obey the laws like those that drive four-wheels or ride motorcycles. Often times, cyclists seem to be the biggest violators of the basic of traffic laws like stopping at stop signs and red lights. They are smug about it as well. I did traffic control and had to close a street for one block because of construction equipment in the roadway. The Road Closed sign didn’t faze them a bit and nearly got clotheslined by a boom swinging out in the middle of the road mounting street lights.

I mean, there is not better alternative is there? The side of the road is the only option outside of a sidewalk. (Unless you have bike lanes obviously)

I hate cars. I’d rather use sidewalks for bikes or walking. Unfortunately, I live in a city where sidewalks are rare. I feel like I’m forced to drive whether I like it or not. Regardless, riding a bike on the street seems like suicide to me.

Even if you don’t have a car, they ride on the sidewalk, I have to hope and pray there isn’t one coming from behind me if I wanna switch lanes or go to a store.

Limit rights for cars. Cycles are more friendly for humans in living areas. Use cars to go out of townships/neighborhoods

In my city all of those things you said are not permitted on the ROAD ARE permitted. We have horses, golf carts, lawn mowers, bikes, and atvs.
