I like to use a bike just because i like saving money. I generally stay off the road unless there’s no cars in sight.
Maybe it depends on the laws of the region and country? In Germany cyclists are MANDATED to use the street unless they are under the age of legal accountability or there is a bike lane.
And horses are allowed on streets, too.
The exceptions are the Autobahn. For obviouse safety reasons.
On a city street, with speed limit aroud 50km/h (something aroud mph for people unable to do a simple conversion) cyclists are more dangerous to pedestrians than cars are to cyclists
Tj hates poor people that cant afford cars
Horses are allowed on the road in some states.
Those rules were literally created by automotive industry propaganda when people started blaming them for idiots running over children. The idea that roads are for cars was deliberately manufactured. L take. Separated pedestrian and cycling paths are better, but roads, horses, and bikes all predate cars.
Depending on where you live, if a sidewalk, or walkway doesn’t have a sign, saying that bikes are allowed, you can get fined. My friend got a $600 ticket, for biking down a double wide sidewalk.
horses do have the right to be on the road lol they have rules though
horses are still allowed on the road in the uk.
but more importantly…do you have as much right in your 4000 lb combustion engine to be on the road as 35,000 – 80,000 lb lorry? if the answer is yes then why? for the same basis that you are dismissing cyclists, you can also dismiss cars.
I started feeling some of that hate, but then came a flood of dirtbike wheely aholes and those unlicensed electric mopeds swerving all over the road. Y’know…. them cyclists ain’t too bad compared to that.
If cyclists want to be on the roads they should have to pay insurance, register their bike, and have the proper equipment (mirrors, lights, etc…) just like every other vehicle on the road.
I just let cars pass and wave em forward.
Thats literally all you have to do.
The cars are bigger than you.
Cyclists are fine until they group up side by side and take up the road. Like get in a line so we can pass u. And worse is when theres a sidewalk they dont even bother attempting to use it they will even purposely miss the sidewalk to not use it…. And i live in TN where u can drive golf carts, lawn mowers and other vehicles down the road…even they will get out of the way for vehicles if theyre able.
Most cyclists hate “share the road” for obvious reasons. We need dedicated bike paths, or at least physically separated bike lanes. I love you TJ but here you are falling for boomer Facebook propaganda.
Car dependency is strong in this video
An atheist channel should be better about not making “whataboutism” arguments,
& checking their facts,
so they don’t confidently make untrue claims
…the way this clip does
“We are the cyclists. The intermediate stage between human and pure energy” https://youtu.be/1s0XsulDXtk
We have to use the road because there’s only a damn road to use half the time, you moron
They are supposed to follow the same rules as road vehicles do.
But they don’t
Even though it’s illegal, I ride on the sidewalk. If I see a pedestrian walking, which I WILL because I’m not bird watching while biking around, I’ll literally go 1 foot to the right or left onto the grass to go around them. If it’s a bigger crowd I’ll go on the street for a quick second. If I’m coming from behind I slow down and announce myself. If something behind me that I can’t see (Like a car) is going faster than I am on a bicycle, then maybe we have something to worry about.
