“Land of the free”
If you live in the USA, and are riding a bike on a road where the speed limit is like 40 mph or higher, you are very likely to get hit by a car. I would stay on the sidewalk if I was riding a bike.
TJ lived in the South so long he forgot that there are indeed places where horses are still used for transportation on major roadways
I have had friends who always say this type of thing when we’re in the parking lot of some place. “Pedestrians have the right of way”, but I still stop them and make them look both ways- because it’s a squishy human body against a 2 ton death machine. It doesn’t matter if they have “the right” because if somebody decides they don’t care, they will be destroyed.
I need to start riding my horse in front of your car. That way I won’t be cycling.
What’s with those trains holding up traffic? They aren’t supposed to do that. We need to get rid of trains obviously. They keep slowing down the city.
Truuuue they are so annoying everytime I see one I roll my eyes
I wonder how often TJ uses a car to travel a walkable distance (less than 1 mile).
Here are some premises for the argument in favor of bicycle infrastructure: Bicycles produce zero percent of the carbon emissions as motor vehicles, take up a fraction of the amount of space, are far better for the environment than electric cars due to not having enormous batteries which have to be sourced from slave mines in third world countries where children dig for cobalt and lithium with their bare hands, they don’t degrade their infrastructure unlike cars which the weight of tens or hundreds of thousands of cars being compressed against the asphalt throughout a roads operational lifetime causes it to have to be resurfaced far more often then bicycle infrastructure. Furthermore, cycling is far healthier for people then driving because it’s not sitting behind a wheel, but instead actually moving your legs. Additionally, on bike paths there is no noise pollution. But the best for last! In car-free cities and in non car-dependent cities there are no dumb ugly ass parking lots!
Here it is safer to ride your bike on the road than the sidewalk. Years of tree roots shifting the sidewalk makes them miserable to ride smoothly.
What I took from this TJ is that you consider people who utilize bikes as methods of transportation to be inferior to people who use automobiles. Bottom line: Your hatred is irrational. I recommend you go outside and do something productive such as taking your pet outside to relieve himself. I rest my case.
In some places its actually still legal to ride a horse on the streets. I think you are right just a minor point.
Well, you’re a fool
Drivers should treat bikers like they treat birds when they’re driving. I’ve almost crashed my car swerving for an asshole that could be using a sidewalk. And when you suggest using a bike on a sidewalk people look at you like you’re a monster.🤦
Its illegal to ride on the sidwalks in most cities. And the more people that travel by bike, the better it is for the environment, and eases traffic congestion. How about just be a better driver??
i love were i live their are bike lanes and paths
I literally share TJ’s sentiment every week I go to work & see dumb ass cyclists cut across an active road filled with traffic, rather than remain on an WIDE OPEN sidewalk that’s 4-lengths wide.
I live in a city and use the sidewalks and side of the road to get to the bike paths. It’s legal!
I ride my bike to lose weight and recreation
Horses and bicycles are actually street legal where I live! Horses have to stay as far right as possible (I think carriages are an exception) and bikes are treated just like cars.
finally something we can all agree on
