Got a set for my E-bike 😀 Still haven’t finished the build though..
meanwhile me with 160 and one brake cuz i’m a dirt rider 😢
In a while we’ll have gone the complete circle because the brake rotors will be as big as the rim
So then it’s:
Rim brakes
Mechanical disc brakes
Hydraulic disc brakes
Larger Hydraulic disc brakes
Huge Hydraulic disc brakes
Rim sized Hydraulic disc brakes
Hydraulic rim brakes 😂
I have absolutely no issues with a 140mm rotor. Why do we need rotors this big?
Its way too big
Which is cheaper?
A huge rotor like this definitely has its use, especially on the rear wheel. Not necessarily for stopping power, but for thermals. I hope they provide adapters for the calipers so I don’t have to stack them (;
Good way to destroy your brake frame/fork mounts.
If you want to make the rotor as large as possible then why not just use the wheel rim as a combined rim and rotor. You could even implement some sort of u or v cable routing to clear the tyres.
Borrowed from a YZ250
At this point you just use the 320mm disc for motorcycle with dual discs configuration
203 was found lacking? Get a floating 203 then.
To be precise, it is made in Spain by the parent company Galfer in Barcelona
Do companies make adapters for their calipers to account for that? It was a pain dealing with that on a supermoto conversion.
New idea, brakes on the rim👍😅😅😅😅
Well if you think about it actually makes since having a 246 on 29er vs having a 180 or 203 on a 29er with a 225+ guy which is going stop him faster. I know I’m around 270 and my 203 rotors are really pushing there limits at times.
dam bro that’s fkn crazy massiveI thought 223 rotors where big
Now, I only need to find a fork spec’d for these…
Lol why though? I have biked down Pikes Peak twice, Mount Elbert 3 times with 180mm hydros. Brakes never heated up preventing me from stopping.
Bike companies are now making useless crap to maximize profit.
I would think these would lock up way too easy
