Something I think I forgot to mention is you should be wary about double weaving with macros, you can get away with it depending on oGCD animation and good ping, but just be aware of your ping and the oGCD animation and identify this for yourself
Wicked
There’s actually a setting in character settings where you can double your ground trageting skill to put it down. I found this out recently and it was a complete game changer. With this you don’t need to macro skills like asylum, sacred soil, and star at all cause you can just double tap the skill and it’ll put it down where your cursor is and there’s no delay whatsoever!
We all love a good Sacred Asylum.
Anyway, good video as always. I’m following, I liked it and I commented for the algorithm like the good boy I am.
oh i dont think the raise macros are for roleplay. they’re for letting people know that you’re taking care of that raise so no one wastes a swift cast or double raises
What is your opinion of the 1 button Summoner macro set up by PuffPastryPrince? I’m using it and find it quite enjoyable.
I’ve tried that hybrid macro almost exactly the same, but it was functioning terribly probably cause i was using 13 lines of and 1 line that had nothing between the <> to give it to myself (blackest knight). I had to stop using them since they were hurting my overall gameplay but might try it again and see how it goes!
One I think is great for tank is this will use your action on your focus target. Say your tanking and you want to focus target a mob and watch for a skill to stun or interrupt. You can use /ac “interject” without ever deselecting your main target.
Are macros on console worth using? If so any particular ones I should be looking at? I know there isn’t much in term of mouse over since using a controller defeats that.. But is there are way around it?
As an added note, when your typing in the action name, instead of using quotes you can hit the “TAB” key to bring up the auto translate. This will help you check the spelling, you only need to enter a partial word before hitting “TAB” for it to bring up a small list of words and actions related to those letters, and when you select the action that you want it will put it in coloured brackets for you and you will not need quote marks.
As tank main i’m used to 2in1 macro for mounting/tank stance.
The Raise macro “roleplay” i usually have where Swiftcast ISN’T on the macro, but instead only the Revive action itself in the first line with a /p & command in the 2nd line, purely to let the other healer know “I gots this man/woman” and HOPEFULLY they don’t use their own Swift.
Short, sweet, and to the point. Great overall list.
JP macros for invul + countdown to let healer take note when they need to heal are awesome
Res macros are aids, just stop. It’s annoying to hear over and over and over again, I don’t care. Stop.
Mouse-over macros are really good for movement skills, like Black Mage’s Aetherial Manipulation or Sage’s Icarus. So are focus target macros for when there are a lot of group mechanics.
You need macros that spam anime attacks names for your samurai abilities, it will help increase your dps if shout the name of the attack before you do it
Thanks for these tips. I subbed!
The mouse over macros do work on console if you have a mouse plugged in.
i cant remember where but theres a option to “swifcast” ground spells like sacred soil so you only need double click the spell to put the spell down. imo is more reliable than the macro
I wasn’t sure if hybrid macros were even a thing (even if very controversial) in FFXIV, so thanks for the info! Also didn’t know about gtoff at all, which is great when I don’t want to use or .
