Oh this is nice man I’ve been following this from one or two other people no one seems to be talking about it much yet.. I really don’t need another camera but I want this one to be good I really do I’m not expecting too much on video I don’t think Pentaxians seems care about 4K. As long as it’s got decent video and modern choices for fps. The price point might be a little tough ..

Just fess up. That tea always has rum.😂 tough call between a Ricoh gr3 and this still wise. You get plenty of cropping power out of that gr3. At least I think from playing around with it. Most of us old school photographers have a sort of romantic weird relationship with Pentax. Almost like a best friend with benefits that calls too much and never delivers 🙃🙃😂😂 seriously. I hope it doesn’t disappoint

This is a lot of horse-hockey by Pentax, with all the spiel about an OVF. Here is the bottom-line: Ricoh/Pentax is pushing the same old OVF format because….they don’t have the capital, nor the will, to fund the requisite R&D and transfer into Operations the manufacturing of an entirely new line of mirrorless-mount *lenses.* It’s the cost of an entirely new lens line that is the issue for them. For good reason, photography is ultimately about the LENSES. As Thom Hogan says, quite accurately, _”The camera bodies come and go…the lenses stay.”_

February 2021 it was slated for November this is always their problem. 1900 is just too much though again most of the rumors had it slated at 1400. You can buy used K1 2 for 1200. It’s not fashion and we’re not rich you can only ask so much for brand loyalty

Pentax did mirrorless in 2012 with very little success.
If you shot Pentax it’s twice the frame rate of a K70 nearly 3 times faster than K1 mk2.
11or 33 focus points model dependent.
So for Pentax it is a massive jump forward.
I am likely to buy it if it ever comes out.!!
I would like to see some people reviewing it first but no one is really interested in doing Pentax though.

Hey Joe,
The executive presenting this is the winner of the competition within the company, “do well and we will hand you the launch, get a new suit”. Contrast this with an Apple ad, and we would see how this could have been done. There was almost a flicker of excitement when he demonstrated fps. Be still my beating heart!
I love my Canon 5D iv, I understand it, for me it is a great tool, and I struggle with EVF in my Fuji X100F, so no change to mirrorless for me. A d definitely no APSC for me.

Hey Joe, as you not a pro but as I mentioned I am shopping and have money. Here’s my take, this product release or what ever it was, was a snore fest!

I will say my observations and what I want as a buyer.

What I see from all camera manufacturers is a jumbled mess, I’ve got to spend so much time comparing specs its STUPID!
What I want can be applied to the APS-C and full frame format, 3 cameras in each format at most 6.

One body that has great specs and does static images really well but is just a starter for video at a lower price. One body that has great specs and does video really well but not as capable for static images for a lower price. Then one body that has the top features for video and static images for top bucks.

If they sell 2 formats that’s 6 cameras, they could make it 12 cameras if they wanted 2 different MP sensors in each format. I mean REALLY, the market is 2 core formats, static and moving images. Wake up! Why do they make it difficult to do business with them?

Then they can concentrate on supporting the bodies, GLASS, GLASS, GLASS! All to doodads, bells and whistles too.They are profitable items! Did I mention GLASS?

Who are Pentax kidding, they are surely the only company who is banking all their money of DSLR’s. Anyone knows who shoots mirrorless DSLR’s are basically dead. They should join up with Nikon then both companies can die together.
Who shoots Pentax and who would buy into this system. it is going nowhere.

I love dslrs. I have big hands. I didn’t want a tiny phone when phones went that way, now they are big and gorgeous. Every mirrorless I touch confounds me. I have to rearrange my grip so I can uncover and poke tiny buttons made for Ewoks. Stuff that. I want something I can hold confidently in one hand and not worry it’s going to slip out like a bar of soap. I shoot Canon professionally but back in the 90s used Pentax and Mamiya. Fully support Pentax staying with the Dslr platform. If mirrorless keep getting smaller and phones bigger there will be a point where they collide for the prosumer market and phones will win.

Hey JC is this advertising from the 1990’s. This is a joke did they just discover APSC? He describes this camera like it were Windows 95. I think in two more years Pentax will announce a Film Camera. He looked like Rod Serling from the Twilight Zone. In New York City it’s Pentax, it’s Saturday Night Live!!!
