Probably they will gradually stop producing D7200 to encourage people buying the D7500! and D7200 price will soar since D7500 is such a disappointment!

Who cares if there is only one SD card slot. The probability of crashing a single card is very low if you buy a good one. It has 4k UHD video, very light weight, more fps than d7200, very good lance, touch tilt screen, better buffer and great price!! A great camera over all.

Yes Nikon is way overpriced especially considering its made at their Thai sweat factory with sweat labor. Nikon is in financial trouble and uses the U.S. market to keep themselves afloat.

Wow… I only heard about the one SD card slot. I didn’t realize they removed the AI/AIS indexing as well…

Leaving aside the higher buffer, fast AF and low light performance, why get this over a Nikon D5500 which is less than half the price? Heck, get the D5500 used and it’s $1,000 less.

A lightly used D500 at $1,600 (what I payed for mine through Amazon) is still a better deal than what they intend to sell this gelded camera at. =(

I’ve just got the 7500. I bought it for £899.99. NEW. Compare it to the Canon 80D (Closest competitor in the Canon family). This is what people should be comparing it too. This camera is part of the 7000 series, and if they had 2 SD Cards, it would be way too similar to the D500. Thats why they didn’t include it. Plus, the 80D only has one SD card. I agree, the battery grip is a little silly, but I could literally buy a second battery or a third one for the price of a battery grip from Nikon. They can’t include other bits and bobs off the D500, because it will be way too close to it and therefore profits will decrease and it will also be seen as patheticly close to the D500. With it having very few things different (Joystick, better focusing system etc.) Its not much.

One consideration: The D7100 and D7200 suck for sports photography – especially night outdoor football games. The D7500 with it’s massive buffer, D500 focusing system and sensor, is a better fit for amateur sports photographers. The lack of a second card slot doesn’t mean a whole lot to me. The only real concern I have is the lack of AI indexing ….
