i was really counting on it until the Single Card Slot.. not any more!!!
i feel your pain… that was a reallllllll Fail removing Dual Slot #SMH
I think we are getting a bit overboard. Most of the cameras including the Fujis (barring the XT2) and the Sonys have just one card slot. We have lived most of our life having a single film back with 36 frames. Just how many of us fill one 32 GB card, let alone two cards? I shoot with the D610, D300 and the Fuji X-E1 and barring the D610, all the cameras have just one card slot. I think I like the D7500 and will buy one to replace the D300. Two lenses, one body and a small bag. The perfect combination to hit the road with. For the Ais lenses, there will be the D610.
You and I are in agreement on this Ken. I referred to the D7500 as a Frankencamera in Episode 167.
I think people will be seduced by the D500 image quality in the D7500, but day-to-day use, I believe they’re going to kick themselves for not going for a D500 (which I own). Image quality is just one piece of the puzzle. People had better think hard before pulling the trigger on the D7500.
I am keeping my D300 and am considering a back up (or D700).
100 years Nikon: D7500.
Nikon is shifting the product line. Next mid range camera will cost as much as Nikon D500. And Since Nikon is clearing off those D500 sensor to D7500, it looks like very soon there will be new sensor , new camera is coming very soon…
I’m just afraid June or July is not going to be any better. The same geniuses at Nikon will be making the future decisions. What can they totally screw up with the D810 replacement? Are they going senile or what?
Lets not forget the D7000
I agree. Terrible decision to remove second SD card slot and
Ais indexing. And what about the awful strap lugs like an old 2004 D70! That
means you can’t use cord straps like mine.
If I look on the specs of the D7500 it seems to me that they want to wipe out their D7xxx series. If you want it cheap take the D3xxx or D5xxx. If you want the best DX than it can only be the D500. Anything in between is a compromise and in doubt too expensive for the performance. Looking only on the D7500 yes it is not a really bad camera. Mainly based on Expeed 5 and the sensor. But having the legacy of the D7200 and their smaller siblings in mind it is definitely a step back in usability.
Did they make the D7500 so disappointing that they can argue their next price increase of the D500? Or the other way around. If the D7500 would have had any goodies from the prior version D7200 plus the new ones who would go for the more expensive D500? Maybe the D7500 only exists to justify the price position of the D500? When I look back to the past 2 years Nikons main strength has been an aggressive price strategy (plus doing things others already did like putting a VR in their 24-70) Meanwhile they reached ridiculous price levels. Even for their old stuff. Meanwhile I can buy 3 Tamrons 24-70 VR for one Nikon 24-70 VR. This would give me 15 years of guarantee coverage. Hard for me to justify the purchase of an original Nikon lens instead of a 3rd party product. Especially when they are often on par in terms of quality or even better. Funnily Nikon is going to China for production and gets more and more expensive while e.g. Sigma and Tamron is partially going back to Japan. Hope Nikons successor for D810/D750 is a real bang with an reasonable price (it must not be cheap but worth it).
should be d5700
read that there’s no battery grip input
nikon is producing way too many cameras for its own good.
for less one may get Nikon D610 refurbished and this is FX camera
Repeating always the same arguments doesn’t make such a video better….
The AF systen is much worse then on the D500.
I don’t who should buy this ?
Is it for … wildlife / sports ? With ‘only’ 8fps and a worse AF-system ? For Pros ? without dual SD-card slot ?
Product design should start with thinking about customer needs. Nikon thinks too much about its own product lineup.
I think Nikon is killing off either the D3xxx or D5xxx line and going back to the D60/D90/D300 business model.
Does anyone know if the d7500 has the 2 axis horizon like the D500?? (Great for keeping walls straight.)
hahahahahahhahahahah good one,
