Kudos to Nikon for coming out with a whole new category of camera…here we have the world’s first high end amateur hobbyist camera! Too expensive for the entry level shooter ( the D3xxx and D5xxx users ) and too poorly spec’d for the mid prosumer customer. Way to go Nikon, whoever came up with this concept needs firing!

I just checked the second hand price for a D500. ~10000 shutter count and a price of NT$45000 (US$1472). It would be meaningless to get a D7500. zzzzZ

Just bought a Nikkor AF 28-85mm f3.5-4.5 and a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 AF (both cheap as hell) for the D5500 I’ll buy next week. 🙂 My next lenses will be the 35mm 1.8G DX, 18-200mm VR (or VR2?) DX, 60mm 2.8 micro, and the 12-24 f4. Which should I prioritize to get first or last? Thanks!

So out of curiosity, does no AI/AI-S indexing mean you can’t use the lenses at all ? Or does it just mean that there basically won’t be any metadata about the lens like what F stop you used and the focal length of the lens in say Lightroom?
