If Pentax is going to die one day, they’re going to die, but likely not because Jared Polin so badly wants them to. Meanwhile, a small but dedicated base of photographers all over the world are using these cameras and lenses to create beautiful images, while he keeps sniffing at the cameras he’s selling to people, whatever that says …

Hi, I’m a Pentax user and vary happy with my Pentax camera and lenses. I’m also a journalist and use my Pentax camera when covering a story. Next year I’m suppose to travel to Asia to take photos and write articles. I was thinking of buying and upgrading my Pentax equipment but today, 7/1/2017, and with the recent news that Pentax might pull out of the market I think I’d better look at other brands. It looks to me that from now on before purchasing photo equipment I have to look how well that company is doing financially.

More than two years after this video released I am struggling whether to buy a D7500, 80D or (yes!) Pentax K-70.
Owned a K-r once and sold it due to lack of time. Time that I’ll have back at my hands very soon and want to get back into my old hobby. I am open to any brand, but the choice between the mentioned three models is kind of hard. I know that Pentax has the smalles variety in their system and not every aftermarket company like Tamron, Sigma and Tokina offer as much for them as they do for Canon / Nikon, but to be honest, I’ll own maybe 5-6 lenses and a capable TTL Flash, so that would not be much of a problem for me. Really good weather sealing would be nice as I live close to the coast (North Sea) and like to travel a lot. But all three are weather sealed… So, yeah. There’s tons of very affordable Canon gear in the used market here in Europe (Germany), so that would make it easier to try new fields of photography…

I just got my D7500 in the mail 3/19/2001and love it.Also bought 2 new lenes to go with it,and 2 Nikon EN-EL15c Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries.Waiting for the batteries to come in as there out of stock.The D7500 is replacing my D3200 camera.
