It’s funny to see that Jared missed fact the 7200 , 7100 , etc has two SD card slots , while 7500 does not, in the 7500 preview video .
Fro needs to do more research before making videos .

I think the one slot thing was panic fix. What they wanted was, as you say, the ‘D500’ lite, so they started stuffing D500 bits into the 7500. Suddenly they discovered that there was no difference, internally, between the 2 cameras. Holy shit what do we do? Take away a card slot. I’d say their bigger mistake was to show how overpriced the D500 is by putting out the same thing for a third off!

I’d buy it if FF. Why Nikon doesn’t make FF 4k pro cameras? What do you guys think?
For me it’s like Nikon’s choosing to remain behind Canon! It has a nice camera range but not complete as Canon

If I was an amateur, needing something lighter (I guess its not that much a difference?) for travel but with the quality of a pro, I’d go for D7500. Or, if I was a D5000 series user, wanting to upgrade but not ready for D500, I will go for D7500. However, I’m looking for a second body to further my business, I’d probably wait for enough cash for the D500.

It’s got a lot of head-scratching issues, but I see it hurting D500 sales. As for the single card slot…..the double card slot thing hasn’t really been around that long (though I do agree, giving up a slot *IS* odd.)

There was an easy sollution for Nikon. If they just called it D6000, they would face no claims. However they thought they would hunt owners of D7xxx series. I find this idea stupid. No professional will buy a camera with one card slot.

It’s a good camera for those who would like to buy a D500, but can’t afford one. The biggest mistake in my mind
is only having one card slot.

It’s not just the single SD card. It’s lens compatibility. It’s less megapixels than their entry level cameras (which have sensors that actually make the most of that extra resolution). It’s focus points that don’t focus down to -3EV (except for the center point…on the D7200 it was all of them). I wish they had kept the old sensor or improved it, and retained the 2 SD slots.

The real name of the d7500 is d6000 😄 … unfortunatelly i think the d7600 (and the d7xxx series from now on) will have also one card slot. Want two? Buy the d500 😒

as a cheap sports camera its right on the money. put a 70-300 on it and its light cheap and perfect for amateur sports shooters.

What a shot in their own foot.
If they wanted to get rid of anything (which I think they should), they should have created a D4xxx series, merging the D3xxx and D5xxx series. They only need ONE beginner camera.
The D7xxx series was a beloved enthusiast camera with many pro capabilities. No dual card slots, AI indexing… is just a disgrace. Let´s see what the future holds, but this is not promising.
