All these years later, the Nikon D7100 finally gets a proper upgrade. The only competitors Pentax has is whatever is floating around on the used DSLR market.

$2k will get you an EOS R, which makes so much more sense. An APS-C DSLR for $2k? Blows my mind honestly. IBIS and 100 points of AF do not make up for that price point at all.

I bought K-r because of you, Dude 🙂 And your “stupid” review with that white Kr, on which you glued grass. It convinced me because you had some odd respect to that little camera by not dropping it, like most of other gear. Yeah I still own it. Than I was convinced by your Pentax K5/Nikon comparison where it seems you are sorry Pentax is just no cool, but almost as good. I Bought K5ii. Later I did my own comparisons of K5ii / K3ii / KP with DFA*70-200 against D610 / D810 in low light and concluded I want to stay with Pentax, so I bought K3ii. Now, let me hear what you have to say about K3iii … I am convinced even before I watch your video this time. All in all, I respect you and your videos. And your “different” sense of humor gave me valuable hints in my decision making. Big thanks. I watched most videos just because.

So Pentax is investing in a basically dead (as of this year) camera format. Hmm seems familiar. Didn’t Kodak/Minolta/Rollei/Bronica/Agfa ect ect all go bankrupt because they didn’t transition from Film to Digital or were too late? Pentax really testing their camera brand

Agree, Pentax haven’t done themselves any favours with the price, $2800 here in Australia (body only). Old Pentaxians like me are a rapidly ageing and shrinking demographic and most of us are saving every penny for our fast approaching old age. It’s a pretty risky marketing strategy to rely on the brand loyalty of a group that is on the verge of extinction.

Shame they took out the astrotracer/GPS and didn’t include a tilt screen like the K-1. Still, I’ve learnt not to expect coherent marketing strategy from Pentax.

K3 ii very nice. Too late . traded in Pentax to go Nikon at end of 2017. No more system switch and no money to add this plus a couple of good K lenses, for this ‘enthusiast’. It make no sense to compare with my long gone K3ii and KP.

Well DSLRs were never dead, neither they will be anytime soon. It’s the paid fanboys screaming their vocal cords out to establish the toys called mirrorless.

Some photogs will always prefer the comfortable protocol of shooting. So, DSLR lives on.

I love Pentax, and tbis camera is highly desitlrable, but £1900 is massive. I’d love to upgrade from my k50, but this is asking for too much money. I sense I might be far from alone in this, and sales may be disappointingly low.
