My xpro3 has an optical viewfinder…technically speaking anyway.

I shoot a lot of film, and in that film, I use mostly waist-level viewfinders. I enjoy the tilty screen on both my X-T30 and X-pro3 for that style of shooting. I’m just not really missing the optical viewfinder even still shooting a ton of film over digital for “important” work. I use the OVF on my x-pro3 a bit, but mostly it’s set to EVF with better manual focus aids (I use adapted lenses from my film gear collection mostly, why spend extra when I have great glass already even if it’s all manual).

Lots of people scoff at Pentax and their cameras, but how many Canon R5’s or Nikon Z7II’s can you dunk underwater to wash off some dirt that’s gotten on your camera and still have it come out working perfectly. That’s why I like them. Apart from the good picture quality they shoot, it can rain all day and I don’t care. I can keep using a Pentax where I would think twice about using anything else. Plus, they have astrotracer 😀

First impressions on a new dslr, in a bedroom, did this thing really happened ? looks like you felt asleep dressed in weatherproof gear and wake up with this camera in your hands and don’t know what to do with it,proper nightmare

I generally like your reviews. But, this review seemed both a little underwhelming and somewhat negative. While I do understand your viewpoint on the camera I would have like to have seen a more thorough review like you give most cameras. I’m sure COVID restrictions played a part, but still would have appreciated some real world testing.

You look at this and then you glance at the discounted Fuji X-T3 or the newer X-T4 and well. I’d really not have bothered Pentax.

Because I don’t shoot video I use my old dSLR’s which includes the Nikon D800, D700, D600, Canon 5Ds, 6D and Sony a900 and a850 plus a nice collection of lenses, flashes and other accessories. Because of mirrorless old full frame gear is cheap! BTW, I’ve been a Kai fan for years and he does the best reviews imo!
