It is pretty obvious to me, the Z50- especially without any kind of additional grip- is likely too small for medium to large hands (mine!). Grip ergonomics play a big role in my buying decisions, since I do not like one or two fingers falling off the camera, especially with longer or heavier lenses. Also, my major beef with many aps-c lenses = most are not weather-sealed. I do not understand the thought behind weather-sealed cameras when the lenses that are available for them omit this feature. At least provide a gasket around the lens mount to protect moisture/sand/water intrusion into the body please…

Same here. Nikon D7500 is a much more robust purchase than the Z50. Bought the Nikon D7500 instead.

This looks like the right place to ask a question about the Z50: I was shooting the z50 with FtZ adapter and Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 at lowlight event conditions . When shooting at ISO 1600+ at F4 -200 I got yellow and purple horizontal lines in some picture. When I was shooting outside at daylight it was gone? No idea what I did wrong. We shot at the same event with the d800 and had no problems at all. Could this be a sensor problem or am I doing something wrong? ps: the z50 was overall a lot more fun to shoot with than the heavy d800;)

Great video – thanks! The specs for the Z50 show the lower operating limit is 0 degreesC or 32 degrees F. Looks like you were out in temps below that level. Did you experience any problems using it below the freezing point?

I am currently using a Nikon D7200 with 50 1.4d and 85mm 1.8g. I usually do portraits/weddings/events and sometimes landscape. Would it be a good decision to switch from d7200 to z50 since my d7200 lacks alot in terms of videography..

UPDATE: Guys I just did the latest firmware update for the Nikon D7200 (dated 2018, yeah I know sorry) and the gremlins that have been affecting the D7200 and the Sigma art 18-35 based on my appreciation are GONE!! the autofocus feels MUCH faster and accurate and in Video the difference is even more dramatic … so if you have a D7200 and a Sigma art 18-35 and are NOt happy with the performance do the firmware upgrade you will be very very pleased with the end result and definitively will be VERY hard-pressed to find a justification to upgrade. The Z50 is a beautiful body but the D7200 is an absolute beast in image quality reliability and now with this firmware upgrade its amazing!!!

Hi there,
I have a d90 with 50mm1.8g, 70-300mm, 18-105mm
I wonder wich camera to choose to have better, sharpen pictures. I want to do nicest pictures of my 3yo daughter.
i was thinking about d7500, d7200, but someone told me that maybe this z50 was a good idea cause my lenses would be compatible with an adapater…

What do you think about it and which camera would you advice me ?

Hey if you are looking for a good solution for doing Vlogs or Selfies. I just orders a cage from SmallRig.com that moves where the tripod connects to the camera so that you can have an unobstructed view of the screen when it is turned down.

Please guys… before dumping your D7200 for a Z50 or D500, DO THE LATEST FIRMWARE UPDATE FROM NIKON (1.04) TO YOUR NIKON D7200 AND GET THE ABSOLUTE BEST PERFORMANCE!!!!!!! NOW PAIR IT WITH YOUR SIGMA ART 18-35!!! The issues that plagued the Sigma18-35/D7200 are gone!!!
I tried it many times and is razor-sharp anywhere in the focus group!
Do not get rid of your Nikon D7200 or Sigma 18-35 ART this combo is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!
