will get the Z50 in the next days, might be a good addition to the Z6 and D500 that I own. Both of them are relatively heavy, so was looking for a smaller camera. Having the FTZ adapter still, allows to use both FX and DX lenses that I collected over the years (incl. a 150-600), as mounting the Z lenses that I got for the Z6 still. Hoping for a real light weight set, that can replace the others on single day hiking tours, where weight is a painpoint.
Mirrorless no way D700 all the way!!
It may just be me, but I don’t really see the point of this comparison.
Right now in the UK the D7500 is a fair bit cheaper than a Z50. For £900 for a body you can get a Z50 or D750. For a given budget your choice is DX mirrorless or FX DSLR.
Actually, this is the comparison I was looking for, since I was stuck trying to decide between either of these very cameras. I own a D5200, but would like to have a second body so that I would not need to change lenses so often. First I thought about the D7500, but perhaps with an adapter for DX lenses, the Z50 pays off? Since image quality is almost the same (given the equal sensor size), as long as you can use DX lenses on the Z50, you’ll have a pretty significant weight cut, right? Or does the body + adapter + lens make the Z50 no lighter than the D7500?
Hi guy – just interested to know what was the third camera that was filming this.
Keren brow😚😚😍😚😍😚😍😍🖒🖒🖒😍🖒❤😍❤😍❤😍
Hello, the z50 is completely shutter silence? because i need a silent camera too photograph theater , thanks very much
I dont truly agree on the mirrorless auto focus being better. I think depends on what you shoot. I shoot air shows and there is no way that the mirrorless will compete with my D500.
I went to the store to check out the Z50. I already have a selection of DX lenses. Didn’t want to start over. Once I had the Z50 camera in my hands. I felt good and the menu is familiar to my D7000. I really only wanted to check it out. But I ended up buying the camera body and adapter.
Thanks for the good and informative video. What camera did you guys use to film the movie? Thanks!
Excellent comparison explained in a very beautiful manner…
I spent weeks doing research on the 7500 and the z50 and ultimately bought the 7500.
Main factors, battery life, weather sealing and lens availability. Thanks for the very helpful reviews!
I can’t believe Nikon put an even smaller battery in the Z50. When they solve the battery life aggravation I might consider upgrading.
Nice! I want a comparison in low light situations !
Nikon has one or two halfway serious DX SLR lenses and two ridiculous Z DX zooms. Even MFT blows either of these Nikons out of the water, just due to available lens speed. Why even bother developing an f/3.5-6.3 standard zoom in 2019!? The Z50 with adapter costs the same as a Fuji X-T3, which is far superior in every aspect and doesn’t need an adapter because its native line of lenses offers pretty much any lens you could ask for. Even Sony’s sorry arse APS-C lens lineup is brilliant compared to Nikons. I can see how someone would choose a Nikon full frame DSLR or Z Mount Mirrorless and even a D500 can make sense for specialised applications, but buying into Nikon DX for everyday hobbyist photography can only be considered a mistake, i.m.o. and this video acknowledges that.
Wow, this actually sold me on the D7500.
can any one buy for me this camera because i love nikon z50 and i don,t have money ?
Thanks for the great vid guys! I got a question tho, which one is better for ergonomics?(for a person with huge hands) I’m not too bothered about the weight
Thanks for this video. My D5300 recently broke, and I’m having a hard time deciding what to replace it with given I own 3 DX lenses (incl. the 10mm-24mm) and a Nikon flash. The market is clearly moving towards mirrorless, and I think the video has convinced me that I am better off spending the extra $200 to get the Z50 instead of the D7500. Now to decide if I should just jump ship to Sony (and get the a6100) and sell my gear or stick with Nikon…
