I love your guys work ,keep up the good job, greetings from Oklahoma City !!!
Glad that I use Sony (A6300) 😉
No IBIS No Buy,
Definitely the Z50 is very promising. The fold down screen is the biggest turn off. Why not just fold to the side.
Funny, I really like the new m4/3 sensors Olympus is using. The EM5iii has 4K, excellent stabilization, flip out screen, on sensor phase detect AF and m4/3 has really small fast lenses. Almost Perfect, they just need ISO 100 to be perfect.
I love how nikon z50 looks.
Today I’ve got my Z50 with the ftz adapter. I was about to buy the d7500 but I’ve changed my mind at the last moment. Both brilliant cameras but the Z50 really a game changer for me. The EVF is awesome. F mount lenses work flawlessly so the lens selection will not be a problem. The only things wich I’ll be really miss is the rugged feel and perfect ergonomics of the dslr.
Very nice photos of the mountains… I have the Nikon D7500 myself and it takes gorgeous photos. I love it. But anyway great job you two.
Well I have a Panasonic mirrorless AND a Nikon DSLR, and both are kind of old now and I love them both. From my experience I would agree with everything you guys say. Except that the DSLR battery isn’t much better.
Good review, it’s indeed a shame that with all this time to design an APSC mirrorless that they missed the mark on what I would call basic features. Rear LCD hinged in the wrong place, no weather proofing and touch screen that doesn’t let you adjust focus points. Really, the design just doesn’t compel you to upgrade(???) to a Z mount camera. BTW Canon are no better. Are they not listening to their customers??? Great location for a shoot, so jealous 🙂
Nikon has great lenses, just not for aps-c. The review should make it more clear that better Nikon glass loses its value on this size camera.
Did you run a burst rate? Trying to find out how many shots it can take in 14 bit RAW ?
It’s really sad that Nikon is so late to the game with their DX mirrorless camera. I have a D7200 that I love and use when I go on a “planned” shoot, but I bought a Panasonic G85 a while back and carry it with me almost all the time because it and its lenses are lightweight and the obvious mirrorless advantages. It’s too bad I have the G85 already. Being able to use my 9 Nikkor lenses with an adapter would’ve been awesome. Maybe in a couple of years.
Thanks for the great review. The snow and scenery are awesome! Did I mention the snow? It doesn’t usually snow down here in south Florida. I was a long-time Nikon user and have been through almost every camera manufacturer at one time or another. I just went back to Nikon and bought a D7500 for bird photography. I tried M 4/3 but haven’t been fully satisfied with the results. I had no issues going back to an optical viewfinder. I don’t see myself buying the Z50 but it looks like a nice camera.
I think Nikon missed the boat and is playing serious catchup now all the while trying to make a profit.
In mirrorless, one of the things I like most is the completely silent shooting. Once I started take pictures like that, it’s hard to return to the ‘traditional’ way. And about Z50, I wouldn’t buy it for 2 reasons – lack of lenses and inability to use the screen as an AF touchpad.
Thanks guys! I’m thinking this camera would be perfect incognito street photography gear. I feel like it could replace my COOLPIX A finally, but this will have the option to change lenses.
I guess the Z will be the same success as the Nikon 1 was.
Hello, thanks for the cool reviews! what a beautiful place to shoot reviews? watching you from Russia)
I ordered my nikon z50 with ftz adapter and can’t wait to arrive to test it with sigma 18-35. I want to see how much of a jump in performance it will be from my old d7100
Wow! Just the video I was looking for, it’s like you read my mind. Best of all, the video was well shot and all details laid out just like I needed.
