I currently use a nikon d5600, but would love to make an upgrade to the Z system. The z6 seems to be only a few hundred dollars more though so it seems to be a toss up for me. Although i would be happy with either i think. Just gotta save up all that dough now lol.
Am I that early?
A Z70 would be nice with better weather sealing, IBIS and 2 card slots.
Solid looking camera though. I love how compact and rugged it looks. That grip looks perfect.
I would love to upgrade from my 7100 but as its still really good and a lot of life left I will keep using it.
I tried out the Z50 at my local Jessops shop and it felt so good in the hand and just like a Nikon. Who knows maybe next year I will upgrade but still keep and use my 7100.
I need 3 cardslots !
I read that the z50 did have weather sealing? How many shots does can you take before the buffer is full?
Also how many shots can you get out of one charge? The z6/z7 got a lot more than what they’re rated for.
The audio was crispy, what set up was used to record it?
One just can’t carry another battery. Geeezzzz, remember film and all the room that took up, now you don’t have that and you can’t buy another battery when paying out all that money for a camera and lenses.
I actually switched back from mirrorless to Nikon d7500. Cheaper body, cheaper lenses, great sensor, great AF in OVF. And BETTER ergonomics. Couldn’t be happier. I wish sellers and you tubers would stop pushing mirrorless so hard. Not everyone needs a small camera body, not everyone needs to pay extra for that small body and for expensive lenses.
Why it looks so cold!! Oh it’s Canada never mind
you guys are cute , nice old v new comparison, btw there is already a vlogging stick for this z by smallrig 🤗, yes I’m seriously considering this z50🤩
Great review. So nice to see a camera channel actually shoot beautiful pictures during their review btw. Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed.
If they put ibis andweather sealing in the z50 and released some proper primes for the system it would be a real winner.
1/8000 is very useful when you shoot a fast prime on a sunny day and you don’t want to mess with ND filters
I just bought my Z50, and tomorrow I’m going for a photo-walk to test it 😀
Honestly you both farther and daughter are great at reviewing keep it up I’m thinking of going with the 90D
My main issue with the Z50 is the 20 megapixel sensor. I have the Z7 and in cropped APS-C mode, I still get nearly as many megapixels (19.5 mp) as this camera. That means that any perceived 1.5x focal length/Field of View benefit I might get with this 20 mp cropped sensor camera is negated. However, if they had a 28 (or even 24) mp camera, without an OLPF, that would be compelling since that does give me at least a modest 1.5x focal length/Field of View benefit that I could justify. As it is, the 24 mp Sony a6x00 cameras (of which I have a number) have more effective megapixels on the target, even with its AA filter, than the Z50. I have a D7200 (that has a 24 mp sensor without an OLPF) and, while it’s a bit long in the tooth, does allow me more effective megapixels on the subject than the Z50. I guess I’ll wait until Nikon’s next DX camera to see if they increase the sensor resolution.
Good review. Did well hitting the pros and cons. As a Nikon DSLR user I’m still waiting on the sideline to see what the gen 2 Z cameras bring. Don’t feel the need to upgrade right now especially since I’m not into video.
The Z50 compared to the M6 Mk2 feels soooo much better in the hand. The M6 Mk2 feels like holding my old point and shoot while the Z50 feels like gripping a thin and light DSLR.
You 2 work well together. Thanks for the video.
