Did yall use the 6d mkii???? To film?
A biggy not mentioned …off camera with in camera flash flash integration?
Did you mention ergonomics, technical support and street cred’,
Hey guys, very interesting comparison.
I have a question, and is not exactly related to the a7r3, but to mirrorless in general, particularly, the a9. I hope you can answer me.
I’ve been shooting Sony for quite a while now, I’m using the SLTs, and I just LOVE THEM.
I’ve been seeing the a9, and I’m about to do the switch to mirorless. My question is the next one: I do weddings, how does the a9 AF in low light?
Every single time I see reviews about the camera people say is incredible, and people who does weddings said is absolutely remarkable, but their weddings are always in bright daylight. I do those too, but I shoot particularly at night. Can it AF in a dance floor for example with only the DJ lights? Can it track faces in those situations? I use a lot of flashes, but I also love not to use them, so, that’s why I’m asking.
Again, I know is not related to this particular video, but I hope you answer me. Thanks in advance.
Holy depth of field, Batman!!!
I used Canon for many years and moved on to Sony and its was really worth to sell all my canon stuff. I respect Nikon as an equal good brand to Sony but Canon is really out of the race. Most of all the small dynamic range of Canon Sensor is their biggest disadvantage. The noise in dark areas is just too bad in Canon. Sony sensors (by the way Nikon is using Sony sensors!) are much a head and making much better picture quality. Can someone tell me why we need nowadays a mirror in our cameras? If Nikon would also go for Mirrorless that would be great.
I would have to say the Nikon 850, not because I own one, but really just the quality. Editing is a breeze color grading, I’m able to match red cameras.
The Sony is uniquely different though.
What body and lens were used to shoot this video? the focus and bokeh are butter smooth
the bloopers lol 🙂
Wow, you are phoneis. How much did Sony pay you? Sony is actually a apc-r mount! Sony overheats and the battery life is so bad! Lol anyway. I own a Sony a7r III after selling my Nikon d810. So shoot me.
Sony/Nikon its a big No No as I truly love my Canon D5 Mark III too much along with my 4 L lens
I have even giving my camera a name “Mons Meg”
Named it after the massive Canon thats in Edinburgh Castle (Scotland) built in 1454 with a barrel diameter of 20 inchs. Its a BIG BEAST just like my camera
Very balanced, except Chelsea’s Stabilization Derangement Syndrome. I started with the Sony A7ii back into photography after a decade or so break so I could use all my manual glass and get started somewhat inexpensively. I’ve never had the situation Chelsea described, that would be horrible to be in a rare place and lose a bunch of images unnecessarily. I only have one electronically adapted lens though, the Sigma 20mm art on the metabones. Now that I have the GM16-35, thinking of selling them both and going manual for things like astro. All those A7ii and A7Rii limitations did aggravate me, but the Riii resolved all of them.
Filmed with a 6d Mark II….
The nikon’s screen Af slow Af
Huevos
Great video, as always!!! I pick D850, but unfortunately they’re back ordered every where, even Nikon USA????
“We’re using a Canon to film this.”
Level up! Your “Unbiased” skill has increased by +1.
These are always fun but I think we forget a very important part of comparison in camera v camera and that is what ecosystem you would prefer to be in, this is a very personal choice and hard to measure but ultimately bodies will come and go but the ecosystem remains. Also handy tip for the Nikon under the custom settings you can get a level in your view finder with a simple press of your joy stick, this way you can confirm your shot is level through the view finder rather than the live screen. We are very fortunate that more companies pushing the boundaries of technology are spoiling us for choice in getting better at our craft.
Hi guys, so im in dilemma! I really want sony a9. but looking at your video i start to hesitate. Its either a9 or a7r3. I want to invest in something versatile. Money isn’t an issue. Id use it for weddings , portraits.
The inbuilt focus stacking feature on the D850 (combined with dedicated Zerene software) is awesome for things like landscape, macro and product photography.
