It’s great to have competing camera companies
YOU CAN NOT STAY WELL WITH THE WHOLE WORLD, THAT IS TO BE HYPOCRITED AND CREDIBILITY IS LOST, YOU CAN NOT DO GOOD REVIEWS TO THE BEST PAID, TO THE BEST BIDDER, IT IS NO LONGER IT IS WORTHY TO SEE THE REVIEWS ON YOUTUBE, THE ONLY THING THAT THEY DO IS CONFUSE THE ONE WHO IS TRYING TO BUY A GOOD PRODUCT IN THIS CASE CAMERAS, BE HONEST
A day without Chelsea, is like a day without sunshine.
I’ve always enjoyed your videos and look forward to every single one. However, why suddenly come out with this video about the D850? Isn’t it an overdue review? Specially now that Nikon is trying to stay relevant in the current industry? I always want to trust your reviews but this seems a bit fishy. Not accusing you at all but relating the kind of feelings this creates.
Just thought I would share a tip that vastly helped me with editing these large 45mp raw files. When I first tried to load up the images I quickly realized I would need to get the codec from Nikon if I wanted to view them. So, after installing the Codec the images would load up in Windows Explorer quite fast, but they would fail to view at full resolution. Lightroom technically worked correctly with them, however it was extremely slow, especially if my card was full and it had to render over a thousand 45mp images into thumbnails and even then load up an images in Lightroom is unbearably slow not to mention trying to make non-destructible edits eats your memory up exceptionally fast. Ultimately my solution was to use Nikons View NX-1 software which is incredibly fast and easy to use viewer that generates thumbnails and let’s you jump between zoomed out and view 100% nearly instantly. Even on a much slower computer than my beast workstation the NX-1 viewer is surprisingly fast. Nikon also offers an image editor which is actually pretty nice and gets the job done for the most part, but I prefer Photoshop. Thankfully Photoshop can work with these large images just fine, however it doesn’t have an image browser so it’s only use is for editing. Oh, I also tried using Bridge to browse through the images but it was still too slow, absolutely nothing I tried even came remotely close to the speed of the NX-1 software, it’s literally a night and day difference. Oh, and all the software from Nikon is FREE!!! Now, I should mention it’s possible Adobe as made some updates since I last tried using LR and Bridge to view/edit images so maybe it’s been vastly improved…
obsolete camera in 2018
The best Nikon… Commercial…
I’m looking for info on where I can get a focus point Plug In for LR for the D850. I have one for the D810 but apparently as yet , there isn’t one for the D850.
Silly question probably but how did you get ISO 64 on your D500? Is that using the low .3/.7/1.0 modes?
I’ve had 3 D850s (now 2) and the only way to produce a visibly sharper file than the D810 was on Gitzo + liveview + zacuto + Zeiss 135 APO and magnify 200%. The D850 does pull shadows better though in many cases if you ever need that much. The problem: No lab in the world can print this resolution, unless you print the size of your living room wall 🙂 🙂
Very nice 😊
D750, D810 and the D850 are Nikon’s best DSLR cameras ever.
yes, until D5S 🙂
Didja really just start the video by saying “O-re-Gone?” Great video, but oof…. that stings. 🙂
did you want to smack the fro?
cleaner than the A7RIII… LMAO stop playing.
luv the way you’ve upped your post production game ! Excellent review
Damn I’m excited for that comparison video. I love me some Sony cameras, but they aren’t the only game in town and I think for a lot of pros, Nikon has them beat here.

Tony, check your facts before you say stupid things on video. All Sony mirrorless have a built in time lapse mode. You heard of Sony camera apps?😎
