Wow was that Madelyn at 1:38? She is turning into such a beautiful young lady! Blink your eyes for a second and they grow up on ya
Waiting for “its too heavy for me” comments. Mirrorless bodies have made people weak AF 😂😂
I did not test the D850 so i cannot have an opinion like the most here.I own a D4 and D810 but i think does’n worth to upgrade for the moment…Even with the 36mp of my D810 i still use the D4 every time because of the low noise in high iso and also way smaller files and better handling…The grip which comes separated from the camera will never feel as natural as the D4 or 1DX Mark 2… Good thoughts though NorthUp’s
What happened to the A7 3? I thought it was the best ever. I guess the Vegas trip wore off huh?
I think Tony has made it his secret mission to bring light to all the mis pronounced words 😂😂😂 first Godox now Oregon, lol “Or-Gone”?
I just want to know about this nippon kogaku strap Chelsea was using!! Aweeesome
Nice video!! 🙂
Will you guys buy one for me?
I still like the Sony A7Riii better, and the G Master lenses are unbelievable. I will give credit to Nikon for getting it together and trying to keep up with Sony. Canon is sinking more and more!
I don’t have the money for a D850 or lens.
The D850 is too heavy, not the best camera for meeee 😩
But I thought you only shoot raw. You can’t load your raw photos onto the iPad using the card reader. The iPad won’t accept raw files. I guess you’re shooting JPEG to the card.
It just seems like cheering for a Nikon or Canon is like cheering at beauty of the Emperor’s clothes. Without Eye autofocus or live view in the view finder, how can this hold a candle to the latest Sony mirrorless. Not to mention the weight difference. I just spent the day at my Daughter’s dance recital. I watched as the hired photographer (a Nikon shooter) continually focused, recomposed, shot, and then chimped to see if exposure and light balance were correct. I don’t have to do any of that with my a7iii!
I own d850 and a7riii both are amazing but in case i have to choose one i twill definitely be the d850 without thinking it is a legend !!!
Tony have you played with Panasonics wifi transfer? I found this super easy to use on the Panasonic FZ300.
How was the chat with jared?
I like the way you pronounce “Oregon”…haha
The D850 might be a great camera but there are non in stock anywhere. Adorama, Amazon, B&H even Nikon USA have none in stock. Perhaps Nikon have given them all to C & T Northrup and other photographers to critique and have none left for the public to purchase.
With regards the battery grip for this camera, Nikon’s own is close to $400.00 but if you search Amazon, 3rd party grips start at about $53.00. Of course I have no idea how good they are.
The best steam train was made in 1938……
bs the a73 is better in half the size
Great video!! I am a D500 owner, but I have a lot of camera envy right now 😉 I know that in previous videos you’ve stated you were not big on manual focus lenses _ and I would absolutely concur when it comes to sports and wildlife, but one of my favorite features on the last 3 Nikon cameras is the menu option for ‘non-cpu” lenses which allow you to tell the camera what the focal length and aperture are for lenses that don’t have any electronics whatsoever – and the camera will then be able to properly meter for you. Manual focus in portraiture can be challenging, but I find it rewarding as well. And I own a Nikon so of course I ‘only’ use manual focus in video. I bring all this up because much like the D850, it will be some time before I can afford to pick up one of those 105mm f1.4 lenses you were mentioning. So in the meantime I picked up a vintage Nikkor Nippon 105mm f2.5 and the results have been astonishing. Don’t get me wrong – I certainly know it can’t compete with it’s modern counterpart on any level, but the only modern lens I own that is consistently sharper and has any where near that kind of quality Bokeh is the full frame Nikkor 50mm f1.8 I have. And I have a pretty reasonable keeper rate from practicing the focusing. But having said all that I will say the only point of your review which did bum me out was the part about 3-D tracking in Af. Cause I am a D500 owner afterall and a dedicated back button focus guy when it comes to sports and wildlife and I have very much come to rely on not only the af, but the 3d tracking for fast moving birds in flight is something I find essential.
In any case, thanks so much for your thorough and thoughtful review
Cheers
