After using mirrorless cameras and how it gives me more control and observation over an image even before i take it is what sold me. The D850 is bada ss but that one missing feature is why i could never buy it.

Have owned the d850 for about a month.. its brilliant.
I agree that the D850 is a great camera but I take issue with the company-line that without the newest glass it is worthless. Please stop pushing that propaganda. No one has provided one scintilla of objective evidence to buttress that contention. What artifacts are present when older glass is used? If that were true, then Nikon has to produce a new lens line everytime they introduce a newly enhanced body and only working pros could afford the cost of admissions into this brave new world. Plus your videos are directed at the wrong audience because we can’t afford the $25k for new glass to replace our current stables. So we might as well stay with our D800/810’s. Does Hassleblad recommend newer lenses for their high-end bodies?
When Nikon introduces a 100mpx super DSLR will it be marketed with this same caveat that the glass you were convinced into buying for the D850 is not quite up to the resolving power of this new body?
But I don’t want to carry around a dslr brick. My mirrorless kicks dslr butt.
Pretty much. I don’t have one because I shoot an awful lot of action (running dogs!) and prefer the D500 crop. Hence, D500’s. That said, there really is a D500 in the D850, especially with the grip and you get the advantage of full frame when you need it (low light, wide angle etc)
I am a dedicated crop sensor shooter and even I am tempted just because it is so danged capable. I think the only thing holding me back is the long term desire to go mirror-less. A Nikon mirror-less D850 would be probably give me too much GAS to avoid 🙂
Nice seeing a review after the new gear hysteria has died down. Got my D850 in January. It is rugged and reliable as well as delivering fantastic picture quality. I’ve done real estate to landscape to portraiture with it. It never fails. I bought into the Nikon flashes (and all the irritating and expensive little bits to make it work off camera) and I like the wireless integration to speed up shoots.
What was the music at 5:37 at the start of Sports? It didn’t go long enough or able to hear it. It rocked what ever it was m/
cant afford another DSLR very happy with a canon 5D3 and a 7D2, both have been in downpours and never a problem. But if I was to buy another camera, Id go with mirrorless, probably a Fuji for the colours
Is Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens best for D850?
Nice presentation n nice camera
Wow so much high praise!
I want to be mentioned in Chit Chat, but I don’t have anything negative to say, so I could either lie and be mean, or I could be TOO flattering and try to appeal to your egos! I think you too are so brilliant, and I love your videos, and you’re a lovely couple, and I aspire to be as good as you two at photography! Ummm… you don’t look related, and Justin is hella cool, and Tony doesn’t overcrop submitted pictures all the time!
There, I hope you guys thought this was funny enough to say, “This was a funny comment on our last video about the D850! This Joseph guy could hang out with us anytime!”
Still rocking my D500 for bird photography. Would love to upgrade to a D850 at some point.
Okay guys something feels a bit off. The d850 is kind of old news now. I’m sorry to say as one poster already pointed out it smells a bit sponsored and with a buy now link? It’s okay if you guys want to go that way but you lost your objectivity long ago.
hey, Jared Polin xD
Very helpful video guyz
Well we can tell this was made BEFORE the Sony A7III was released.
I don’t know if I gonna use all of these features from this camera. But I’m gonna buy one anyway. My first owned Nikon is FM2n early in the ’90 and became fan of Nikon since.
I face palmed so hard I almost knocked myself out when I heard you try to pronounce Oregon. haha 😉
