Disappointed but make sense when you think about it. The internal memory (buffer) remain the same no matter what type of memory you used externally. But the recovery time should be faster on the CFExpress (data written from buffer to memory card).

Was to be expected. As long as the internal bus-frequency (like on PCs) and the bus-width of the camera body remains unchanged, there will be no improvement. Maybe ‘hackers’ go for over-clocking of the camera…

For sure Mechanical parts can not increase by a memory card. You have a very fast car but Road is not designed for that fast so your speed is limited by Road. If you increase the load of the Car speed is not reduce. Like RAW and Jpeg record at the same time.

any improvement in buffer clearing time? CFExpress is supposed to take lesser time to clear buffer. how much difference does it make?

As much as I love my D850, this will be the reason why I update my body, whether it is another yet to be released D series (possibly not) or save and get the Z9 when it comes out

The boost should come from moving from SD to either xqd or cf express not between the latter two. It’s good to have the option.
