This is the ultimate camera for a zeiss 18/35/50/85 pre-“update” set up + 105/135 dc, and can get tamron zoom trinity for cheap.

I don’t care about lenses and I sold or got rid of my old Nikon lenses ages ago. Personally I want a DSLR because shooting portraits and not optically looking through the lens just doesn’t work for me. I feel I am half blind looking at a screen when shooting people. You just can’t beat actually looking through the lens. I also film, so there is no better camera out there for me than the 780.

Here from Dec 2021. Thank you for giving me an authentic representation of this camera. I’m looking into this now because I realized I am in photography for the shooting experience. If I take good photos that’s great but photography is something I do to relax, much like how others go fishing to do the same. I think this lower tech option would suit me better than the mirrorless cameras that I currently have.

Heya Snapchick. I am fortunate enough to be working from home so I am enjoying your youtube videos. 🙂 I currently own a Nikon Z50 mirrorless and I wish to look and purchase a workhorse Nikon DSLR once again as I miss and am nostalgic towards Nikon. My first Nikon was a Nikon D3200 way back in 2015. Good times. Looking at everything from the D3500 up and till this video the Nikon D780. Nikon colour resonates with me and it’s something I still love and have become heavily accustomed and used to. I cannot wait to purchase a DSLR as I miss owning one. Do you have any recommendations for me? I think I will purchase a D3500 and build my way up again…You only live once though. Enjoy. 🙂

I absolutely love DSLR’s. I dropped my Sony for a 1DC and I am so stoked about using it. An absolute brick compared to the mirrorless.

Z in Z Mount stands for ZERO because that’s how many other systems Z lenses adapt to and also the odds I’m spending good money on honking great big heavy lenses that will be very expensive paperweights when Nikon exits the camera business.

I am the lens junkie you described in this video and this is exactly why I need a D780! I love vintage glass and autofocus. It’s the only camera that gets me mirrorless style shooting with AF-D lenses. Plus usable 4k video with AF on my Tamron VC lenses. I have an m43 system for smallest possible mirrorless and Nikon FX DSLR when I want full frame results. I just have an F100 instead of the F6 you mentioned! 👏🤌🙌🪄

I honestly don’t really see that much of an advantage from the mirrorless cameras beside the smaller factor and reduced weight. I’m planning to upgrade my camera next year and while I do take mirrorless in consideration (they’re equally as great, not superior in my opinion ) a dslr still matches my needs better than a mirrorless

85mm 1.4f Zeiss lense is my baby. No autofocus needed but the red highlight focus feature may be worth it.
