Tony, I use D4s, D500, and D7200. I keep D7200 on my Sigma 150-600 sport and love it for the subject when they are too close for 500mm prime. I think you should not discount d7200 for action photography as long as you understand the buffer limitation, still 18 frame at 14 bit and 24 at 12 bit , it is very useful. Autofocus on D7200 is quite good and useful for bird in flight shot. Anyway, keep up the good work! Mukesh
what a disappointment…. damn you nikon
this should be called D5700
The Group AF is very useful when shooting wildlife and sports. I use it all the time on my D4s and D500. Many pros recommend it.
I find that touching the screen in Live View on the D500 gets the focus right most of the time
I buy DSLR cameras for shooting still. I don’t use them for shooting video. If I wanted to shoot 4K video I would buy a video camera.
I have had no problems with SnapBridge with my D500. But it is not something that I really care about.
The only change I would have liked on the D500 would have been the same memory card option as the D5 … 2 XQD or 2 SD cards
I did hear some other stuff . Namely that it will not accept the old Ai Ais lenses ( D-lenses no clue ) , and also no extra batterygrip would be possible .
Does the megapixel decrease make a noticeable difference?
What zoom lenses do you recommend for the d500?
With a 2.2 crop a 18mm lens equals a 40mm lens, not 27mm. 🙂
apart from 4k the 80D is just as good if not better than this camera? why Nikon?
Think you skipped the fact that its got a 180000 pixel RGB sensor for metering and AF support/scene recognition/face tracking etc, compared to the D7200 having a 2000 pixel RGB sensor this is probably going to give stellar AF performance and excellent metering too, probably the biggest selling point. Having never had a memory card fail after hundreds of thousands of pictures on several different brand cameras I am surprised you comment like that it is just a matter of time for card failure? Don’t these cameras self check the recorded data?
Jeeez. its $2100 in Australia. Thats $1600 USD when converted. 😮
I’m thinking that trade-off of less pixels for more frames per second is kind of strange.
Between D7000 series and D500 series…D7500
Can’t decide. My D60 can’t handle challenging moments…after a few photo workshops at local camera store… want more than the D60 can handle. But, have been using Fuji X30 for last 2 years and really enjoy it. Upgrade the X30 or the D60…. ?
For someone like me coming from a D3100 it’s great….one card – no big deal for the average fun photographer.
Why doesn’t NIkon release a mount adapter that allows their dslrs to use NIkon 1’s lenses for 2.2 crop 4K video?
